Easy Speak - a Language Learning App With Payments in ADA

Please describe your proposed solution.

  • how I perceive the problem that I am solving

One of the ways to increase Cardano adoption is to introduce as many real-life use cases as possible. Teachers of foreign languages are forced to pay bank fees, high platform commissions, and taxes when they don't have to. They are not exposed to cryptocurrencies. And web2 platforms are not willing to adopt crypto payments.

  • my reasons for approaching it in the way that I have

I'm a Frontend developer with 5+ years of experience, and I know how to build websites. I also know that the Cardano ecosystem is not only about tech, it is also about people. A language learning platform will onboard new users into the Cardano ecosystem and will take a step further in introducing Cardano to the general public.

  • who will my project engage

The project will engage people who want to learn a new language and native speakers (teachers or enthusiasts) who want to earn and teach their language.

  • how you I demonstrate or prove my impact

We will create a portal where students of foreign languages and teachers will be able to have calls, lessons, and pay in ADA.

Please define the positive impact your project will have on the wider Cardano community.

Cardano community will increase in numbers when there will be more use cases. Our project will create another use case:

  • Students of foreign languages will be able to study and pay with ADA.
  • Teachers of foreign languages will be able to earn in ADA.
  • Participants could invite their friends to speaking clubs or lessons.

Our project will remove mediators - banks, in payments between students and teachers.

What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability? How do you intend to validate if your approach is feasible?

The proposer possesses the capability to deliver the project with high levels of trust and accountability based on their working experience. Previously, the proposer had experience in teaching courses, where all lectures were held live according to the schedule.

The lectures were conducted and prepared by the applicant. This demonstrates the ability to build a work schedule, stick to it and achieve your goals.

Here are the key factors that demonstrate their capability and accountability:

  1. Community Presence: The author of the proposal regularly posts on Twitter, and creates reviews for Cardano projects.
  2. Successful Frontend experience: The proposer has experience in creating multi-lingual services and apps.

The proposer has skills in the following areas that are necessary to complete the project:

  1. English and Russian translation (to provide translations for the website)
  2. Community engagement
  3. Managing the team
  4. Writing code

What are the key milestones you need to achieve in order to complete your project successfully?

1 month (UX Design):

  • Write user stories (possible user routes on the website)
  • Create website prototype (pages, breakdowns, services)

>2 month (UI Design)

  • Designs for wide-screen and mobile devices, color pallets and multilingualism;
  • Create style-guide for project;
  • Configure github repository (it already exists, now I’m setting up CI/CD and Vercel for deploy);

>3 month (Frontend)

Frontend development based on the design.

Setup multi-languages and adding translations

Stack: Next.JS, Redux

>4 month (Backend)

Setup Backend for storing data

Video calls (WebRTC)

User chats

>5 month (Smart Contracts)

  • Cardano wallet integration
  • Smart contracts on-chain code
  • Smart contract off-chain code

>6 month (Debugging and Testing)

  • Testing and debugging of the service with a small focus group
  • Load testing, testing for compliance with service rules
  • Fixing bugs

Who is in the project team and what are their roles?

Anastasia Polozova (CTO, Senior Frontend developer)

Dmitrii Bondarenko (Fullstack developer, senior for Smart Contracts)

Alena Khalyavina (Frontend developer)

UI/UX Designer - will be hired

Please provide a cost breakdown of the proposed work and resources.

UI/UX Design: 12.000 Ada (hired specialist)

Frontend + Debugging and Testing: 20000 Ada

Backend: 18000 Ada

Smart Contracts: 25000 Ada (perhaps a hired specialist from the community)

How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?

The cost of this project represents excellent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem, offering a low-risk, high-reward project.

Low Risk: The project will be developed in popular business sphere. People always want to learn a foreign language.

Such projects are easy to advertise and build client base.

Education and Awareness: The service will also provide materials on how to use Cardano (buying ADA, payments) in several languages (Russian, English, other languages will be added later).

Cost-Effectiveness: The money requested will be used to develop a product that meets the market requirements and Cardano's adaptation needs. Project audience will be gradually integrating into the Cardano ecosystem.
