African developers constitute a small percentage of total graduating youth in Africa. majority of graduates are looking for jobs and unfortunately there isn't enough market to employ them. creating entrepreneurs through Gig jobs is a first choice for many countries and i believe it is the most sustainable solution.
thus introducing web3 and blockchain to the youth must be a priority to ensure mass adoption in the future. as cardano is one of the leading blockchain system in the world, it has a bigger role to play. therefore i would like to promote cardano's ecosystem through coding boot camps mainly among university students and graduates.
Creating a strong developer and affiliate community is also as important as ever. Thus through get-together programs, zoom meeting and through social media channels, we can create a strong community
Main challenges in the blockchain space are low awareness, technical entry barrier for developers and lack of awareness about long term financial gain of crypto projects.
Financial education programs can encourage local investors to explore and invest in Blockchain space, particularly cardano. In collaboration with cardano's team, we can create motivating programs and investment packages.
Media campaigns can bear fruit to create mass awareness. Particularly in Ethiopia, there are more 1 million people who has at least heard of cryptocurrencies. this part of the population is mostly young and educated. Thus, media campaigns can target this demographic group through social media channels.
Africa is a beautiful continent with more than a billion people living in it. Ethiopia in particular is the 2nd largest country by population in Africa.
Most people are not literal left alone aware of blockchain technologies. so long term teaching programs will be as important. it might be hard to see the fruits right away.
Regulatory complacency is another challenges. since many African countries doesn't have regulatory framework for Cryptocurrencies and blockchain, sometimes it is not clear whether it is allowed to do Crypto related things.
Africa might have millions of students graduating each year but many of those students doesn't have basic computers for programming. as a result, programming centers and libraries are good alternatives.
