Cardano hunt in real life - Tubbly

Please describe your proposed solution

How do you perceive the problem you are solving.

  • Onboarding users from web2 to web3.

What are your reasons for approaching it in the way that you have.

  • The Pokemon Go hype has shown that it has a large audience, and it also supports a healthy lifestyle. We want people to move more via our app - Tubbly.

Who will your project engage

  • Players and people interested in an interesting game in real life.

How will you demonstrate or prove your impact.

  • Increasing popularity of Cardano among people from web2 and increasing activity on Cardano through network traffic.

Please define the positive impact your project will have on the wider Cardano community

Tracked on the blockchain, all activity is visible, as we did on the Casper Network:proof1

What are the key milestones you need to achieve in order to complete your project successfully?

Milestone 1: Milestone 1

Title:

Basic integration with the blockchain.

Description:

Every time a user claims the tokens on the map the balance gets updated via the contract.

All the deploys are made from the main Tubbly signing account. This is a quick win and will already make Tubbly visible on Cardano blockchain.

Acceptance criteria:

  1. Every time users collect tokens, their balance gets updated on the blockchain.
  2. All deploys are signed by Tubbly's main account, every time a user collects tokens on the map.

Development time:

6 weeks

Milestone 2: Milestone 2

Title:

User interaction with the blockchain.

Description:

This is the next step after M1. After completion of M2 the balance is associated with the user's blockchain account. The objective of this milestone is to associate private keys with users and each deploy will be signed by the user not by the main Tubbly account.

  • Blockchain integration.
  • Every time a user claims tokens their balance gets updated on the blockchain.

Acceptance criteria:

  1. All active users have assigned keys.
  2. All active users have their accounts funded, to be able to make deploys.
  3. All deploys are signed by users who triggered them by claiming the tokens on the map.

Development time:

7 weeks

Milestone 3: Milestone 3

Title:

Frontend for the user to interact with the blockchain.

Description:

The objective of this milestone is to ‘reveal’ blockchain to the users. This means to enable them to interact with their blockchain account themselves. The user should be able to interact with the blockchain through the in-app wallet.

Acceptance criteria:

Tubbly team will design and develop the in-app wallet. The user should be able to perform the below operations from within the Tubbly app:

  1. Preview their wallet address.
  2. Preview balance.
  3. Deposit to their account.
  4. Withdraw from their account.
  5. Export their Private Keys.

Development time:

7 weeks

Milestone 4: Milestone 4

Title:

AirDrop’s module pt.1.

Description:

The objective of this milestone is to build a new module of the app that will enable the users to switch modes between classic Tubbly and AirDrop mode. The AirDrop mode will be a customized version of Tubbly, enabling the user to collect the tokens from other projects built on Cardano. The user will see the airdropped tokens on the map, and at the end of the airdrop campaign will receive the tokens to their account in the Tubbly app.

Acceptance criteria:

The first step to develop the AirDrop module is to prepare the front end of the App.

Once the user switch to the AirDrop mode, the look and feel of the application will be adjusted:

  1. Different colors (in line with the visual identity of the AirDropped tokens).
  2. Reorganized menu (unnecessary features are hidden).
  3. More emphasis and easier access to the blockchain functionalities.

Development time:

6 weeks

Final Milestone: Final Milestone

Title:

AirDrop’s module pt.2 (fungible token integration).

Description:

Once the front end of the AirDrop module is ready, the fungible token support is to be integrated. This will enable the projects from the Cardano ecosystem to payout the tokens for the AirDrop participants, straight into the user's wallet within the Tubbly app.

Acceptance criteria:

  1. Users can receive the AirDropped tokens into their account within the Tubbly app.
  2. Users can transfer their tokens to a different account.
  3. Multiple tokens can be displayed in the user's wallet.

Development time:

4 weeks

Please provide a cost breakdown of the proposed work and resources

Development

Milestone 1: Basic Integration with the Blockchain

  • Budget Approval: We approve the grant portion of $15,000 for this milestone. The timeline of 6 weeks and the integration plan aligns well with our expectations for initial blockchain functionalities.

Milestone 2: User Interaction with the Blockchain

  • Budget Approval: The grant portion of $20,000 for Milestone 2 is approved. This phase is crucial as it transitions the control from the main Tubbly account to individual user accounts, enhancing security and user autonomy.

Milestone 3: Frontend for User to Interact with the Blockchain

  • Budget Approval: An $18,000 grant portion has been allocated to develop an in-app wallet. This feature is essential for fostering direct user engagement with their blockchain assets and represents a significant enhancement of the Tubbly app’s functionality.

Milestone 4: AirDrop’s Module pt.1

  • Budget Approval: We agree to the proposed $12,000 grant for developing the frontend changes needed to support AirDrop mode. This will provide users with a fresh experience and alignment with other projects on the Cardano blockchain.

Final Milestone: AirDrop’s Module pt.2 (Fungible Token Integration)

  • Budget Approval: The grant portion of $20,000 is well justified, given the technical complexity and user value added by enabling direct fungible token transactions within the Tubbly app.

Marketing and Operations

  • Marketing Budget: The allocation of $10,000 for marketing, especially in promoting tokens from other projects and ADA, will be crucial in driving user engagement and adoption.
  • Operations Budget: The operational budget of $5,000 will support the ongoing needs of the project, ensuring smooth operations and maintenance.

Cost Justification and Market Rates

Our development costs align with regional averages for blockchain developers and industry rates for similar projects, ensuring competitiveness and fairness. The budget also considers the complexity and demands of blockchain development in the evolving Cardano ecosystem.

Incremental Value to the Cardano Ecosystem

  • Milestones 1 and 2: Establish foundational blockchain integration, increasing Cardano's visibility and user engagement through frequent transactions.
  • Milestone 3: Introduces an in-app wallet improving user experience and security, promoting broader adoption of ADA.
  • Milestones 4 and Final: Launch an innovative AirDrop module that enhances visibility for other projects and fosters ADA utility.

Efficiency and Community Engagement

We emphasize efficiency through testing and engagement strategies to enhance user participation and drive continuous application improvement within the Cardano community.

Marketing and Operations

The marketing and operations budget ensures sufficient project visibility and support, maximizing reach and impact, thus adding to the value for money.
