Intro:
AdaQuest is a game project combining three different game phases into one whole Fantasy World Game Experience. In the meantime, we have also brought our own native token into circulation. The token can be purchased by delegating it to our pool(QUEST). It will also be possible to purchase it on one of the well-known Cardano exchanges in the near future.
The QuestToken (QTS) offers the following benefits:
- 20% discount on all our available NFTs.
- The purchase of so-called cosmetics (skins, tribals, housing decorations, crests, etc.)
- Access to the (meta)Goblinverse
Cross Spring - First town of the Goblinverse
IMPORTANT: We have already started a concept for this feature. So we will not start from scratch!
With the Goblinverse we like to introduce the Metaverse to the players of AdaQuest. Since we realize that currently, over 500 Apps are using this “buzzword”, as always, we decided to do it differently. As old-school gamers and pen & paper veterans, we like the idea of owning a piece of your territory. Even if it is just to place there a tavern for business. That's where Cross Spring comes into play.
For now, we like to make these features available in Cross Spring:
- Enables the housing feature for your tribe or you
- Setup options within the buildings or compound
- Acquiring land parcels and placing property in select areas within Ada
- Properties like shops, houses, mage towers, resources, caves or even temples, etc.
- Building communal families and socializing with other users
As you can imagine this is not "only" about owning a piece of land in AdaQuest. The mechanic will allow you to set up the building you have placed on your parcel. Similar to Animal Crossing, The Sims, or Harvest Moon.
Metaverse is already key in taking the next step in the crypto virtual goods business. As last year NFTs were the place to be, we think that this is the logical addition to cover this challenges problem statement:
!Mass Adoption!
Adding more content is always a good way to generate revenue within the gaming business. Since Red Potion Studio is more focused on the mantra - GAME experience First - bringing the housing & socializing feature to AdaQuest will let the owners and fans of our NFTs deep dive into the World of Ada. Further, it will make every gamer as loyal as possible. Since beside the NFTs the people will own a place forever in this virtual world, once they claim it!

Our KPIs
Even if we are free and not at the "mercy" of a big publisher or investor, budget and time are always issues when it comes to creating games. As an independent developer, the biggest risk is that you will run out of money or dev power. Either someone will try to sell you a service he/she can´t deliver in time or someone create something you already paid for, but in the end, it is useless for your project :(
To mitigate this, we work only with people we already know and meet in RL or worked before with them. Sometimes we receive recommendations or test young talents before offering them a contract. Our working and project experience will ensure to keep track of the budget and put enough into our reserve to be prepared for turbulences and struggles, which sometimes you can´t avoid.
That´s why we will track & measure this:
- New user accounts after releasing a feature (after adding Goblinverse)
- Budget spend vs. Revenue after the feature release
- Website Visits, Page Impressions & Views (also YT, Twitter, etc.)
- NFT Sales & Land claims (after adding Goblinverse)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Target Groups
Primarily:
- Fantasy, RPG & pen & paper fans and nerds
- Virtual world fans & Influencers
- Housing & Metaverse enthusiasts
Secondary:
- NFT & blockchain connoisseurs
- Hand-drawn art lovers
Tertiary:
- Gamers
- Curiosity-seekers
Challenges
- Blockchain-related updates/upgrades that can influence our development
- Providing user suggested feature upgrades
- Creating more than just a plain map with "shitty" GFX and calling it Metaverse!
- Delivering the promised concept in time and budget
Risks
- Generating technical debt through "bloat" feature sets
- Compensation of non-productive time
- Unforeseen technological obstacles
Our risk management includes the experience we have gathered within the last two decades in games development. We avoid already some of the risks by clearly communicating our steps and taking precautions NOW! That´s why we never will drop a version, because for the sake of releasing something. However, we use some of these tools to help us minimize the risk:
- Only one weekly team meeting (tasks are distributed to each division)
- Tracking & documentation with JIRA & Confluence
- Overall quick communication through Slack
- Learning & optimizing processes by reflecting everyone's working style
