Build open-sourced, ready-made marketplace for general resellers, collection creators, niche industries, individuals, web2 companies. Launch your own marketplace in a week.Image file

Problem

Barriers to entry for any NFT marketplace are enormous and stifle competition and in turn adoption. There is no such out-the-box product similar to Shopify in Web2 that speeds up the adoption.

White-label NFT marketplace. Shopify of Web3 coming to Cardano.

Please describe your proposed solution

Currently. the NFT industry on Cardano is highly randomized and on almost all marketplaces you find gaming, utility, defi, art, PfP, RWA, and other NFTs all mixed up together.

This solution also caters to (not only!) collection creators who want to run their own marketplace on their website instead of linking to an external marketplace.

Real-world utility businesses like real estate, sports clubs, fan clubs, and others are facing technical and financial barriers to entry.

Both users and creators need to connect in a better way so that users can discover projects they actually care about so that creators’ presentations can find their audience more straightforwardly.

Please define the positive impact your project will have on the wider Cardano community

We plan to create a platform for both developers to build on and non-developers to start their NFT trading business where existing Cardano products can be integrated.

Customizable front-end and no-code platforms will allow quick onboarding of new businesses and more competitive and better-targeted platforms for specific niche NFT areas. Cardano can become a go-to blockchain to onboard new businesses with ease once the barriers of entry are lowered to the minimum.

What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability? How do you intend to validate if your approach is feasible?

We are fully transparent with our business entity based in Prague, Czech Republic and we are building with guidance and cooperation with strong entities in Cardano. Since we have been through the journey and have been building a functional marketplace for over 2 years we want to spare anyone else from making the same redundant efforts and spend hundreds of thousands of dollars. Our experience in marketplace building from scratch gives us a good idea of what needs to be done and how long it will take so we can offer a ready-made product to anyone who can launch such a marketplace with their own design within a week.

What are the key milestones you need to achieve in order to complete your project successfully?

Milestone 1: Designing and basic documentation

  • Description: Create design and visuals and API design
  • Output: Figma and PDF document
  • Acceptance criteria: Usable visual and API design

Milestone 2: Alpha release

  • Description: Create a prototype of MVP including private GitHub source code.
  • Output: Github repo with marketplace's MVP (screenshots as a proof)
  • Acceptance criteria: Frames for code-base for MVP that can be further developed

Milestone 3: Beta release

  • Description: Further developed MVP from the previous milestone which is ready for testing.
  • Output: Publicly accessible marketplace on Testnet.
  • Acceptance criteria: All features are put in place and the marketplace can be used for testing on the Testnet site.

Milestone 4: Testing and documentation

  • Description: Create documentation and readme files for developers building new features on public source code and test the current beta release thoroughly
  • Output: Github repo and a dedicated website/Gitbook with all documentation and instructions.
  • Acceptance criteria: Any developer can use the current code base to run a marketplace.

Final Milestone: Final milestone

  • Description: Marketing and feedback collecting for the next phase of development
  • Output: Public document with all gathered feedback and next steps for further development. Project Close-out Report and Video.
  • Acceptance criteria: Clear road map for this open-sourced marketplace solution.

Please provide a cost breakdown of the proposed work and resources

Milestone 1: 50.000 ADA

  • 320 hours of UX, design, coding and API designing
  • 80 hours overhead - Project and product management

Milestone 2: 50.000 ADA

  • 320 hours of coding
  • 80 hours overhead - Project and product management

Milestone 3: 50.000 ADA

  • 320 hours of coding
  • 80 hours overhead - Project and product management

Milestone 4: 50.000 ADA

  • 320 hours of testing and manuals writing
  • 80 hours overhead - Project and product management

Milestone 5: 60.000 ADA

  • Project close-out report and video + lfeedback collecting and road-map creation
  • Marketing in and outside of Cardano community

Dedicated server for the testing phase onwards for another year: 20.000 ADA

No dependencies

How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?

The average cost for development and overhead for all listed milestones is around 120 ADA/hour which is the industry average at this ADA/USD rate. Building FE, BE, and SC for a brand new marketplace would have cost any new entrant 600k+ ADA and a full year of development (been there, done that). For half the amount we put together our experience and code that works so that hundreds of businesses can onboard Cardano for free within a week. Let's help the adoption grow!
