VESPR Wallet: Advanced Native Token Dashboard and Token Transactions Filter

Please describe your proposed solution.

Our solution, the 'Native Token Dashboard' in VESPR Wallet, is a strategic endeavor to bridge the existing quality gap between Cardano wallets and prominent wallets in broader blockchain ecosystems, such as Metamask and Phantom Wallet. By displaying personalized "profiles" for each token — including comprehensive token data, price graphs (when applicable), token-specific transaction records, and interactive token management options — we not only significantly amplify the user experience within Cardano but also raise the bar for wallet feature standards within the ecosystem.

As wallets function as primary interfaces for user interaction with the blockchain, enhancing their functionality and intuitiveness can provide a massive boost to user engagement, adoption, and satisfaction. This, we believe, will serve to position Cardano more favorably in the competitive blockchain arena, attracting an increased user base from outside the ecosystem and fostering the growth and expansion of Cardano.

How does your proposed solution address the challenge and what benefits will this bring to the Cardano ecosystem?

As a critical portal of entry for new users to the Cardano ecosystem, VESPR Wallet plays a significant role in defining first impressions with their initial user experience. We've designed our wallet with a user-centric philosophy, emphasizing simplicity and accessibility, to break down barriers to Cardano, particularly for non-technical users.

By advancing VESPR Wallet's functionalities, we're taking definitive steps to close the existing quality gap between Cardano wallets and those of other leading blockchains, such as Metamask and Phantom Wallet. This enhancement aims to improve Cardano's appeal and competitiveness, attracting a larger user base from outside the Cardano ecosystem and bolstering its overall growth. This aligns with the challenge's goal of developing high-impact products that drive adoption, affirming our conviction that our contribution will substantially further this endeavor.

How do you intend to measure the success of your project?

The following measures are based on observable and trackable metrics commonly used in software development. Given our team's expertise in Flutter and mobile app development and understanding of the Cardano blockchain architecture, we are confident in our ability to execute the following outcomes.

Concrete Outcomes:

  • The successful design and implementation of the Native Token Dashboard UI.
  • Development and integration of the price history API into VESPR.
  • Development and integration of the token transaction history filter API into VESPR.
  • A smooth public release of the functionality.

Qualitative Outcomes:

  • Positive user feedback
  • The attraction of new users to Cardano.
  • The increase in user engagement in the Cardano dApp ecosystem.

In the short term, these enhancements will reduce the complexity of managing and interacting with Cardano native tokens, paving the way for an easy and enriched wallet experience.

In the long term, the enhancements cater to a broader demographic by providing user-centric, easy-to-use, feature-rich wallet solutions, a crucial need in the blockchain user base. By extending VESPR wallet's functionalities, we anticipate increased user engagement and attraction of new users, contributing to the overall growth and expansion of the Cardano ecosystem.

Please describe your plans to share the outputs and results of your project?

The new feature will be shared initially with a select group of beta testers for rigorous testing, feedback and adjustments. This process will help us polish and fine-tune the functionality, usability, and UI of the Native Token Dashboard.

Once we are confident in the readiness of the beta release, we will proceed with the public release. We plan to maximize the impact and reach of the new feature primarily via social media platforms such as Twitter, where we can reach a larger audience.

The insights and feedback collected during this process will better inform our research and development of VESPR. Our aim is to continuously innovate and improve, making the Cardano experience more accessible, engaging, and user-friendly.

What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability?

We are an agile team of three individuals equipped with both the technical expertise and operational prowess necessary to execute this project successfully and responsibly.

Our work with VESPR Wallet, not only speaks to our deep understanding of Cardano's architecture, but it also showcases our vested interest in preserving a positive reputation within the Cardano ecosystem. The success of the VESPR Wallet and the trust it has earned from its user base serve as evidence of our team's dedication and integrity.

Alex, our Lead Senior Architect, has significant experience in mobile app development and has led projects on security-critical mobile applications for leading financial institutions like American Express, Virgin Money, and Tesco Bank. His stringent emphasis on security and industry best practices guarantees a high standard of delivery in our projects.

Derek, our UI/UX Designer, Product Owner, and Social Media Manager, has been instrumental in shaping VESPR Wallet, manifesting not just his creative prowess in designing intuitive and engaging user interfaces, but also his strategic acumen in product management. Derek's diligent social media efforts have also been key in fostering a vibrant and supportive community around VESPR Wallet, underlining our commitment to ongoing engagement and responsiveness to our user base. As a result, VESPR Wallet has become a notable success in the Cardano ecosystem and serves as both a testament to Derek's skills and a validation of our team's overall competence and commitment.

On the operational front, we’re very fortunate to have Andy, who brings over a decade of leadership experience in business management, specializing in operational efficiency and financial goal attainment. He has a proven track record, most recently coordinating and spearheading the 2022 CNFT Con Afterparty in Las Vegas, successfully managing five different teams contributing to the event, and showcasing his adeptness at fund management and event organization. His expertise ensures diligent and transparent handling of funds as well as strategic business direction.

Our unique blend of technical knowledge, proven record in Cardano-based project execution, and solid business management make us highly capable of delivering this project.

What are the main goals for the project and how will you validate if your approach is feasible?

Our primary objectives for this project are

  • To enhance the user experience on VESPR Wallet by introducing a 'Native Token Dashboard' that provides detailed token information, price charts, token-specific transaction histories, and interactive token management options.

  • To contribute to the Cardano ecosystem by narrowing the quality gap between wallets in Cardano and those in other major blockchains (Metamask, Phantom Wallet, etc.), thereby attracting more users from outside the ecosystem.

Validation of our approach's feasibility is rooted in our team's expertise in mobile app and API development and the work we have already commenced in tracking price changes for many Cardano tokens. VESPR Wallet in its current state is a testament to our team's ability to implement new features successfully.

While quantifying user acquisition directly resulting from this new feature would be difficult, the qualitative measures involve user feedback, increased engagement on our social media, and any discernible growth in user engagement and attraction of new users to both VESPR and Cardano as a whole.

Please provide a detailed breakdown of your project’s milestones and each of the main tasks or activities to reach the milestone plus the expected timeline for the delivery.

We plan to adopt the Agile project management methodology, facilitated by bi-weekly meetings to assess progress and resolve issues. Our team will use Discord for continuous communication and Trello for task and deadline management. Regular updates will be provided to the community, enhancing transparency and accountability.

We anticipate the entire project to span approximately four to six months, commencing from the time of funding receipt. We are all active members of the Cardano community, regularly engaging in technical discussions on Discord and Telegram. We also have direct lines of communication with various technical experts in the Cardano ecosystem and out via our personal external networks.

How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?

Given that wallets serve as the primary interaction point between users and the blockchain, and taking into consideration the caliber of our team, the complexity of the deliverables, and the projected impact of our proposed solution, we argue that our project does in fact represent a higher value for money for the Cardano ecosystem. Investing in VESPR's UI/UX is a direct strategic investment in Cardano's ecosystem. By simplifying complex blockchain operations and reducing the barriers of entry, we anticipate increased adoption and user retention of Cardano as a blockchain platform.

The cost estimates we have defined are not arbitrarily determined but instead are based on reduced rates of our team's previous employment and current earnings potential – aligned with industry standards. These rates are justifiable and we are ready to provide proof of income if required for verification.
