Our proposed solution aims to modernize and streamline the customer loyalty programs in pharmacies, particularly in Germany, through the implementation of a token-based system on the Cardano blockchain. The current systems, usually card-based, pose challenges such as loss or damage of physical cards, and potential misuse of customer data.
We intend to build a digital loyalty program, where customers earn non-transferable tokens for their purchases. These tokens can be accumulated and redeemed for discounts, enhancing customer retention. Simultaneously, it protects customer data as the tokens don't track purchase history, only the amount of tokens accrued.
We're approaching this problem with blockchain technology due to its unique properties: transparency, security, and immutability. These properties will allow us to build a loyalty program that not only benefits the customer but also the pharmacies by providing a more robust, efficient, and privacy-centric system.
