Please describe your proposed solution.
We will translate the dReps-related documents below into Japanese and Vietnamese for sharing in the community, for seminars, or for offline and online meetings in Japan and Vietnam.
- dRep program introduction document
- dRep Workshop Materials
- dRep meeting materials
- Minutes of the dRep meeting
- List of frequently asked questions about dRep
- Regulations and guidelines dRep
- Notifications from Catalyst about dRep
- Other documents related to dRep
(probably documents drafted by highly reputable dReps and want to share in the community).
*We will support document translation at a favorable cost to contribute to Catalyst's successful implementation of the dRep program, helping Cardano achieve perfect decentralized governance soon.
*The Catalyst Fund funded the initial document translation costs in support of dRep fund 10, and fund 11.
Once we have translated enough according to the budget, we will receive translation requests from the dRep community at a discounted price.
*Documents about dRep, after being translated into Japanese and Vietnamese, will be shared in the Japanese and Vietnamese communities via Official Telegram, Discord, Forum, and Cardano. Also, share on Facebook, and Telegram groups with many Cardano, and Catalyst members in Japan and Vietnam. The purpose is to support dRep currently participating and attract new dRep from the Community.
*Reason for translating into Vietnamese
Vietnamese English proficiency index is 66th out of 112 countries (EF EPI score: 486, ranking in Asia 12/24)- it is lower than the others.
However, Vietnam is the country with the highest Global Cryptocurrency Adoption Index(GCAI)in the world.
*Reason for translating into Japanese
Japanese English proficiency index is 78th out of 112 countries (EF EPI score: 468, ranking in Asia 13/24)- it is lower than the others.
Cardano originated in Japan and has had a lot of ADA holders since its infancy.
Due to language barriers in English, Japanese and other languages, despite the presence of active community members and SPOs, participation in Catalyst is still small compared to the number of holders. Therefore, Japanese language tools and documents are required to support dRep Japan.
Please describe how your proposed solution will address the Challenge that you have submitted it in.
- This proposal creates a native language document to help dRep of the Japanese and Vietnamese communities better understand dRep (duty, authority, work….) thereby increasing the effectiveness of the dRep program.
- This proposal contributes to increasing the number of new dRep from the Japanese and Vietnamese communities by sharing dRep documents in Japanese and Vietnamese, breaking down the language barrier.
- This proposal contributes to the diversification of dRep by contributing to the attraction of new dRep in Japan and Vietnam.
What are the main risks that could prevent you from delivering the project successfully and please explain how you will mitigate each risk?
Risk 1:
The deadline for translating documents requested by the dRep community is more and the deadline is faster than the Catalyst document.
Risk mitigation
We will prioritize translating official documents from Catalyst first. And at the same time, notify the number and start time of receiving document translations on request from the dRep community and ensure the deadline to complete the translation is at least 1 week. This way the dRep community and we will also know the plan and prepare documents in a timely manner.
Risk 2:
With the greatly ADA fluctuation, the stable value of ADA may be subject to sharp slippage due to market volatility that could lead to a lack of funding when carrying out the actual incentive calculation.
Risk mitigation
Create a reserve fund for ADA value fluctuation. At the same time, convert ADA at the time of receiving into stablecoin or USD to mitigate the risk of value fluctuations.
