Solution

we are trying to recognize pool groups in cexplorer.io for a long time (cexplorer.io/groups/). we want to continue this and make the data publicly available via api for free

Problem

low transparency of owners across pools in a decentralized blockchain.

Feasibility
Value for money

Public list of SPO groups (json, csv)

Please describe your proposed solution.

We have been manually monitoring pool groups internally for several years thanks to Daniel.

We want to provide the data publicly, as we know there are plenty of tools and groups that could use the data.

And as a result, this data will serve to make Cardano more decentralized.

How does your proposed solution address the challenge and what benefits will this bring to the Cardano ecosystem?

Pool groups data are useful for developers, operators themselves, and a myriad of services - from wallets to various internal tools and analytic tools.

Increasing (though never flawless) awareness of pool groups increases decentralization.

How do you intend to measure the success of your project?

number of requests on group endpoint

data availability

Please describe your plans to share the outputs and results of your project?

instantly via json / csv file for free

What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability?

We have been running our Cexplorer.io (Adapools.org) since the days of Incentivised Testnet, all the while being well known members of the Cardano community under the Cardanians roof.

Since we've had this data internally for several years, we're ahead of schedule.

What are the main goals for the project and how will you validate if your approach is feasible?

  • Increase decentralisation
  • Provide pool group data to other tools
  • Promotion and education

Please provide a detailed breakdown of your project’s milestones and each of the main tasks or activities to reach the milestone plus the expected timeline for the delivery.

  • Define structure (< 2 weeks)
  • create api endpoint with pool groups (1-2 months)

Please describe the deliverables, outputs and intended outcomes of each milestone.

Json/Csv file with pool groups available under api (1-2 months)

Please provide a detailed budget breakdown of the proposed work and resources.

  • project management = 10 000 ada
  • development = 50 000 ada
  • server costs, devops = 10 000 ada
  • marketing (social media, articles) = 15 000 ada
  • reward for pool-group contributor 25 000 ada

Who is in the project team and what are their roles?

Lukas Barta (CEO)

Josef Taborsky (PM, dev)

Daniel Ribar (long-term voluntary moderator of pool groups)

How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?

Increasing transparency on decentralisation
