Solution

We will create a Player ID system on Cardano, allowing gamers to manage their in-game achievements and assets securely across multiple platforms, with privacy features powered by Midnight.

Problem

Gamers currently lack a unified, privacy-preserving identity system to track achievements, credentials, and assets across games and chains.

Player ID System for Cardano Games: Identity and Privacy with Midnight Integration

Please describe your proposed solution

We aim to build a Player ID system that uses blockchain technology to provide players with a unified identity across multiple games, with an emphasis on privacy and secure data management. This ID system will record players' in-game achievements, credentials, and selected assets. Integration with Midnight will ensure sensitive data is handled securely using zero-knowledge proofs, protecting user privacy while enabling a robust system for managing identities, achievements, and assets across the Cardano ecosystem.

Please define the positive impact your project will have on the wider Cardano community

The end goal of our Player ID system will be to enable cross-game identity management, improving player experience, and attracting more gamers to the Cardano ecosystem. This solution fosters a connected gaming environment on Cardano, while integrating privacy features to ensure security and regulatory compliance.

What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability? How do you intend to validate if your approach is feasible?

Our team has a proven track record in blockchain development and gaming technology. We have extensive experience in designing secure platforms and have successfully delivered similar projects. The technical feasibility will be validated through prototyping and close collaboration with the Midnight Network team for privacy features.

What are the key milestones you need to achieve in order to complete your project successfully?

Milestone 1: - Scope project requirements and key players.

  • Outline roadmap and use-case for product.
  • Scope Midnight integration requirements.

Milestone 2: - Design the Player ID system, including identity and credential tracking across games (3 months).

Milestone 3: - Present proof of concept with wireframes to outline flow.

  • Present example user flow.
  • Present outline for Midnight integration on Knights website.

Final Milestone: - Complete testing, documentation, and launch public access for early adopters (12 months).

Who is in the project team and what are their roles?

Project Lead: Scott Rogers

Operations and Documentation: Patrick Bernard

Business Relations: Anthony Russo

Finance/community Manager: Patrick Archibeque

Please provide a cost breakdown of the proposed work and resources

  • Research and initial development concepts on Midnight Integration
  • 30,000 ADA
  • Design concepts and Wireframes:
  • 45,000 ADA
  • Project Management:
  • 27,000 ADA
  • Community Feedback, Surveys, and Incentive
  • 10,000

Total: 112,000 ADA

We depend on integrating Midnight for private and secure handling of sensitive player data and achievements.

In addition, we have dependencies for design and wireframes - TBD on design selection.

How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?

This project will ultimately provide a foundational identity system for gamers in the Cardano ecosystem. The ability to securely manage credentials and assets will improve user retention and adoption of blockchain-based games. By leveraging Midnight, we ensure privacy and regulatory compliance at a lower cost compared to alternative solutions. We would be scoping a project for development that would be an early adopter of Midnight for a directly viable long-term use case.
