Problem

There exists sdks for Unity in the ecosystem, but integrations into other game engines are still missing, as well as good integration with other features often using in web3 games like GPS

Please describe your proposed solution.

Currently there are integrations of Cardano wallets (through Paima) into multiple systems engines like

  • Unity
  • Phaser
  • Game Maker
  • Javascript
  • LLM AI models

Some of these integrations can be found here: <https://github.com/PaimaStudios/paima-game-templates>

However, we plan to add integrations to the following systems as well:

  1. Unreal Engine
  2. GPS connections
  3. iOS and Android
  4. AR device if possible (like Vision Pro)

Since new engines occasionally appear, we will monitor the space to other opportunities as well and reserve the right to change our mind about which engine/platform we prioritize spending funds on to maximize impact

How does your proposed solution address the challenge and what benefits will this bring to the Cardano ecosystem?

This will benefit the Cardano ecosystem by allowing developers to more easily build their business using the technology they love and still deploy their application in the Cardano ecosystem

How do you intend to measure the success of your project?

We will share reference implementations of all the different integrations we do

dcSpark and Paima Studios are well renowned companies in the Cardano ecosystem that have a long history of delivering on Catalyst proposals. You can find progress on grants we have previously received at https://dcspark.io/grants

What are the main goals for the project and how will you validate if your approach is feasible?

The main goal is to enable businesses to build the business they want to build inside the Cardano ecosystem, instead of having to go to another platform simply because of a missing SDK

We know this project is technically feasible as both Paima Studios has already integrated Paima into Unity, Game Maker and other systems as mentioned previously

Each system we successfully integrate with is a milestone. The goal is to integrate as many of them as possible with the budget we are allocated

Code and reference implementations

Please provide a detailed budget breakdown of the proposed work and resources.

Each integration will most likely cost 40k~60k, so we aim for around 4 integrations

How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?

This will increase adoption of gaming in the Cardano ecosystem by enabling devs to build in the ecosystem while using tools they are already familiar with instead of having to go to deploy elsewhere
