Solution

Create an open hands-on educational curriculum to empower Cardano advocates across the globe with a sustainable economic incentive to onboard Cardano users by hosting localized paid meetup courses

Problem

The UX for new users onboarding into cryptocurrency is horrific: tainted with technical and process barriers, dated tutorials and intimidation. Useful economic incentives lack for community members😕

Open Source Onboarding: Blockchain 101 Meetup Course

Please describe your proposed solution

DripDropz will craft and deploy a public syllabus and corresponding companion educational training content to empower any Cardano enthusiasts with the ability to monetize hosting and facilitating a 40-minute hands-on introductory course on understanding and using basic principles of blockchain.

The course will guide students through an insightful and captivating journey into blockchain that will include activities such as installing a mnemonic-free wallet, reviewing principles of responsible self-custody, understanding fungible, non-fungible tokens and data immutability, and performing transaction exercises to understand concepts of asset transferability using the Cardano blockchain.

Upon completing the 40-minute course, a student will have installed a wallet, learned about self-custody, native assets and immutability, received 10 Ada, claimed native assets, and swapped those native assets for other assets.

Please define the positive impact your project will have on the wider Cardano community

Cardano community enthusiasts have few opportunities to subsidize income while volunteering and participating within the ecosystem. This initiative will help retain ecosystem talent by providing an economic opportunity to all Cardano community members across the globe. Community educators will be incentivized to earn income for educating and onboarding eagerly curious users to Cardano which is awesome for everyone.

What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability? How do you intend to validate if your approach is feasible?

For this project DripDropz will deploy subject matter experts (SMEs) to create the course syllabus and content, and will deploy expertise in creating high-caliber training materials.

The DripDropz team is fully public, with members regularly engaging with the community at various public events. We've exhibited at and participated in RareEvo and NFTxLV. Core team members have also spoken at the Cardano Summit in Dubai and frequently engage in governance and ecosystem development within the community.

Our team is active in Catalyst Town Hall and the Intersect MBO. We consistently provide updates on platforms such as Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Mastodon, and TikTok. Additionally, we maintain a YouTube channel where we share video updates on new features and After Town Hall presentations. We also host a weekly "SpacePlace" chat on YouTube & X, interacting with the community and answering their questions.

We've fulfilled previous promises made to Catalyst, successfully closing out our Open Source Voting Proposal. Recently, we completed a user survey for our new features and site revamp, gathering valuable insights and feedback. The features outlined in this proposal reflect the most requested enhancements from both project owners and end users on our platform.

What are the key milestones you need to achieve in order to complete your project successfully?

Milestone 1: Create Course Syllabus

Milestone Outputs:

The team will create a syllabus for the introductory course.

Acceptance Criteria:

A reviewer will be able to verify the syllabus published to a public repository

Milestone Evidence:

The reviewer will be guided to the location of the public repository containing the syllabus. This will be documented in a recorded video interview with the SME team, which will be published via a YouTube link.

Milestone 2: Subject Matter Content Creation

Milestone Outputs:

The SME team will create the content for the course based on the derived syllabus

Acceptance Criteria:

A reviewer will be able to verify a content description is present for each line item in the syllabus. The content description will assist an educator in executing upon the course syllabus and direct the design team with producing the course presentation used to teach students

Milestone Evidence:

The reviewer will be guided to the location of the public repository containing the subject matter content that will be passed to the design team. This will be documented in a recorded video interview with the SME team, which will be published via a YouTube link.

Milestone 3: Complete Course Presentation

Milestone Outputs:

The design team will create a template for the introductory course and populate that template into a presentation containing the finalized course content

Acceptance Criteria:

A reviewer will be able to verify the course presentation has been completed and added to the public repository

Milestone Evidence:

The reviewer will be guided to the location of the public repository containing the completed Course Presentation. This will be documented in a recorded video interview with the SME team, which will be published via a YouTube link.

Final Milestone: Final Milestone

Milestone Outputs:

Create a Course Educator Guide to help educators with tips and insights on promoting and facilitating courses, as well as strategies for monetizing the open source course

Acceptance Criteria:

A reviewer will be able to verify the Course Educator Guide has been completed and added to the public repository

Milestone Evidence:

The reviewer will be guided to the location of the public repository containing the completed Course Educator Guide. This will be documented in a recorded video interview with the SME team, which will be published via a YouTube link.

Please provide a cost breakdown of the proposed work and resources

Syllabus Creation - 15,000 Ada

Creation of Course Content - 45,000 Ada

Presentation Design - 30,000 Ada

Complete Educational Guide - 10,000 Ada

No dependencies

How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?
