Open source minting and burning system for NFT projects

Please describe your proposed solution

Problem Perception:

Getting started on Cardano presents significant challenges; building dApps, games, or NFT projects can be complex and time-consuming. The current landscape lacks complete open source tools for minting and burning NFTs, creating a barrier for developers looking to leverage the Cardano blockchain. Our project aims to address this by simplifying the process and making it more accessible to a wider audience.

Approach Rationale:

Our solution is driven by the desire to create the kind of minting and burning system we wished we had when starting our journey on Cardano. We are committed to building a fully open source platform that empowers developers to get started in the Cardano ecosystem. By embracing transparency and collaboration, we believe we can foster innovation, streamline development workflows, and ultimately accelerate the adoption of NFT projects on Cardano.

Target Audience:

Our project engages developers and entrepreneurs interested in leveraging the Cardano blockchain for NFT projects. We aim to lower the barrier to entry by providing intuitive tools and resources that cater to both experienced developers and newcomers alike. Our open source approach encourages participation from the broader community, ensuring that our platform evolves in alignment with user needs and technological advancements.

Impact Demonstration:

We will measure the impact of our solution through various metrics, including developer engagement and project contributions. User feedback and adoption rates will also play a crucial role in assessing the effectiveness of our platform. We hope to showcase the tangible benefits of our open source approach and its positive impact on the Cardano community.

Please define the positive impact your project will have on the wider Cardano community

Positive Impact on the Cardano Community:

Our project aims to bring significant value to the wider Cardano community by democratising access to NFT creation and management tools. By providing a fully open source minting and burning system, we empower developers of all skill levels to participate in the vibrant ecosystem of Cardano-based NFT projects. This accessibility will not only attract new developers and artists to the platform but also foster innovation and creativity within the community.

Measuring Impact:

We will measure the impact of our project through both quantitative and qualitative metrics. Quantitatively, we will track key performance indicators such as the number of developers utilising this platform. Qualitatively, we will gather feedback from users and developers to assess the usability, effectiveness, and overall satisfaction with this platform.

Sharing Outputs and Opportunities:

We are committed to transparently sharing the outputs and opportunities resulting from our project with the wider Cardano community. This will include regular updates on our progress, including new features, improvements, and community contributions. We will utilise GitHub issues and social media platforms to engage with the community and solicit feedback.

What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability? How do you intend to validate if your approach is feasible?

Feasibility Validation:

  • Proof of Concept: Prior to seeking funding, we conducted rigorous proof-of-concept phases to validate the feasibility of our approach. This involved testing key functionalities, and assessing technical feasibility. By ensuring that our approach aligns with project objectives and technical requirements, we mitigate risks and increase the likelihood of project success.

Trust and Accountability in Fund Management:

  • Transparent Budgeting: We prioritize transparent budgeting practices to ensure that funds are managed responsibly and effectively. This involves clearly outlining the allocation of funds for development and documentation.

What are the key milestones you need to achieve in order to complete your project successfully?

Milestone 1: Image file

MIT open source Card Pack minting frontend:

* Frontend repository with MIT license.

Milestone 2: MIT open source APIs:

  • APIs for building/submitting minting and burning transactions to Cardano.

Milestone 3: Image file

MIT open source Card Pack burning frontend:

* Select card packs from connected wallet and create a burn transaction

* Utilise bidirectional web sockets to listen to a response from backend when burning and mint is done.

* Mint reveal, show minted cards in frontend

Milestone 4: MIT open source Burning system backend

  • Web hook to listen for burn transactions on the specific policy
  • Web socket backend to be able to send data to frontend when burn/mint is completed

Final Milestone: - Example deployment of the fully working system.

  • MIT licensed open source repositories
  • Documentation of how to deploy and use the minting/burning system.

Please provide a cost breakdown of the proposed work and resources

Frontend development for minting and burning system is estimated to be 2 months full time work.

APIs for transaction building and submitting including is estimated to take 1 month.

Burning system backend with web socket connection and burn web hook is estimated to take 2 months.

We also estimate 1 month for testing, bug fixing and documentation.

Since we will be able to do some of these activities in parallel we estimate a total calendar time of 3months for 3 developers.

No dependencies.

How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?

Value for Money in the Cardano Ecosystem:

Our project offers solid value for money within the Cardano ecosystem for a few reasons:

Cost Justification:

We've carefully considered and justified our project costs based on industry norms and the tasks involved. Our team has done thorough research to arrive at these figures, taking into account factors like project scope, timeline, and expertise required.

Time Estimation Breakdown:

We've provided a breakdown of our time estimation. With an estimated total calendar time of 3 months for 3 developers, we're aiming for efficiency by running tasks in parallel and maximising productivity.

Proportional Costs:

Our project costs are in line with the value it brings to the Cardano ecosystem. By providing open source code for NFT projects, we're helping developers and creators get involved in the NFT economy on Cardano. The investment in our project matches the potential impact it can have on expanding and enriching the Cardano ecosystem.

Value Proposition:

Our project offers concrete benefits to the Cardano community, including improved accessibility, innovation, and participation in NFT projects. By simplifying development processes and lowering barriers to entry, we're contributing to the growth and sustainability of the Cardano ecosystem.

Conclusion:

In summary, our project offers solid value for money within the Cardano ecosystem. We've justified our costs based on industry norms and project requirements, and our time estimation breakdown reflects our commitment to efficiency. By investing in our project, stakeholders can expect tangible benefits in terms of improved accessibility, innovation, and participation in the Cardano NFT space.
