Solution

The creation of a web platform in partnership with the ICCN for the sale or auction of endangered animals from the fauna and flora of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in NFT format.

Problem

Some endangered animals should be protected by all of us because the stability of our ecosystem depends on them.

Seriously endangered species such as: Giraffe, Elephant, Bonobos, PANGOLINS, etc.

NFT for DRC Fauna and Flora

Please describe your proposed solution.

The development of a web platform for the sale or auction of rare animal species from the fauna of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in NFT format.

What advantage will DRC have by developing this project?

  • Creation of the digital identity of rare species of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the world in digital format (NFT)
  • Have the exclusive right to the images of animals of the Democratic Republic of Congo by purchasing corresponding certificates of authenticity (NFT), certificates authenticated by the ICCN.
  • Generate revenue from the sale and auction of these NFTs to help protect these species.

A web/mobile platform based on the Blockchain Cardano for the sale and/or auction of NFTs certified by the ICCN :

This will allow anyone to obtain a digital certificate of ownership designating them a species of fauna from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

A certificate conferring not only the right of ownership but also the duty to contribute to the protection of this species by renewing its purchase for a period clearly determined by the ICCN.

The platform including the following pages:

Presentation of ICCN

Presentation of the animals in general of the DRC

Presentation of endangered animals of the DRC

Presentation of the NFTs of the different animals offered for sale by the ICCN

Presentation of the NFTs auctioned with the prices accompanied by the duration of the auction

Etc.

Please describe how your proposed solution will address the Challenge that you have submitted it in.

The creation of a web platform that presents the NFTs of rare animal species in the DRC, will allow anyone from anywhere in the world to contribute to the conservation of nature in the DRC.

The platform that will be designed will present the species in categories: Endangered species, and all species in general. There will also be a category based on price: NFTs of cash auctioned, and others sold normally.

To reassure us that the species will be constantly protected, the purchase of NFTs will be renewable. Buyers therefore buy cash NFTs for a specific time, and will have to renew the purchase each time.

Each time an NFT is purchased, the platform will also present monthly reports of how that purchase has helped protect the dedicated species.

Everyone on the planet will be able to access the platform and be able to see who owns which NFTs, but also to buy them as well.

What are the main risks that could prevent you from delivering the project successfully and please explain how you will mitigate each risk?

The risk of this project not working is not having the platform. The ICCN has already agreed to support us in taking images of animal species, they are just waiting for the platform. So if Cardano funds us, we will execute the project, otherwise we will have to seek funds elsewhere to develop this platform.

Another risk is the Congolese government. Since this project directly affects the environment, we must have the agreement of the government of the DRC to be able to collaborate peacefully with the ICCN and implement this platform.

Please provide a detailed plan, including timeline and key milestones for delivering your proposal.

A web platform for the presentation of fauna and flora specie of the DRC in the form of NFTs to be put up for sale and auction.

Application functionality :

User Interfaces :

  • Home page
  • About
  • Login and Registration
  • Space for presenting species for sale and auction
  • Personal Dashboard (For each customer who has an account). This dashboard will allow him to see the NFTs he has already purchased, for how long, etc.)
  • Description of each species presented

Administration Interfaces :

  • Login and Registration
  • Dashboard
  • Global configuration interface of the application (Configuration of NFTs in auction based on price and time of possession, categorization NFTs presented, etc.)
  • User creation interface with access rights
  • Monthly Purchasing Action Report

A pooling meeting will be organized between ICCN and Uptodate Developers at the end of each essential part; this in order to achieve the desired results.

TIMELINE :

  • From the 1st September to 1st November : Development of the beta version of the platform
  • From 1st November to 1st December : Test, correction and deployment of the first version of the platform

Please provide a detailed budget breakdown.

If you are funded, will you return to Catalyst in a later round for further funding? Please explain why / why not.

No, because the platform will start making money by itself.

Please describe what you will measure to track your project's progress, and how will you measure these?

The application will be developed in continuous integration, we will have the possibility of putting online at least every two weeks an update allowing us to follow the evolution of the application.

At our first report to cardano, we will publish the visualization link so the Cardano team will be able to follow the evolution of the development.

We will establish a schedule for each feature that will be made and its deadline, it is on the basis of this that we will be able to measure the progress of the project.

What does success for this project look like?

Success for us first corresponds to the deployment of the first version of the platform. Second is the purchase of NFTs of endangered species to contribute to nature conservation in the DRC.

Please provide information on whether this proposal is a continuation of a previously funded project in Catalyst or an entirely new one.

This is a new proposal
