MyUnbox

Please describe your proposed solution.

The project that we are proposing, titled ‘MyUnbox’, will combine all these verticals onto one platform. Building a user ‘identity’ – connecting all future events associated with the users’ experiences (professional, social and physical), charity, hobbies, and interests - with their individuality.

Their web 3.0 uniqueness will then be incorporated into their ‘true digital Identity’. It is this identity which will be what the MyUnbox ecosystem revolves around. Allowing any user whether that be a government, citizen, NGO, refugee etc. operating within the Unbox domain access to any of the closed loop solutions and be the sole owner of their data. As well as who they share it with. It is important to acknowledge the fact that ‘our actions define us’, and this should be as applicable in the digital world as it is in the real one. Carl Jung writes: “You are what you do, not what you say you'll do” and we, at Unbox, agree.

In summary, we intend on leveraging our closed loop system verticals to aggregate people's skills, talents, experience and behaviour, transferring to the digital arena the depth of a real-world social profile.

Please describe how your proposed solution will address the Challenge that you have submitted it in.

MyUnbox will allow individuals to create, manage and participate in various closed loop systems that help improve society. Whether they are a citizen, government, NGO, refugee, brand etc. My Unbox will become the portal to a thriving and endless ecosystem. An ecosystem which prioritises the transparency and individual ownership that we believe is best facilitated by the Cardano blockchain.

What are the main risks that could prevent you from delivering the project successfully and please explain how you will mitigate each risk?

Key Risks

Challenges

  • Cardano’s L1 versatility, speed and cost for high volume use
  • How to execute: Self-government and community-driven incentives for privacy and security in the field of digital identity/ Web 3.0 persona
  • Building a key management infrastructure that is easy and accessible for everyone without compromising on privacy and self-sovereignty.

Risks

  • The acceptance and success of the Closed loop on the Cardano blockchain may be affected by its performance and cost.
  • Privacy benefits and drawbacks of the peer-to-peer or Person
  • Availability of Vasil HF and tooling

Please provide a detailed plan, including timeline and key milestones for delivering your proposal.

Week 1:

Project launch includes discussions of the technical needs to be included in the Product requirement document with the COO, CTO, and System integration adviser.

Week 2-5:

With an emphasis on creating a rich end user experience with low barrier to entry. Smoothening out the traditional hurdles of key management, building for a realistic real-world usage. The goal is to leverage our Closed Loop system verticals to aggregate people's skills, talents, experience and behaviour; transferring to the digital arena the depth of a real-world social profile that describes a person while preserving absolute privacy.

Week 6-8:

Submission of the draft product requirement document. Outlines the specifications for a certain product, including its function, features, and behaviour. It acts as a manual for the technical and business teams building, releasing, or marketing the product.

Week 9:

Project will be divided into sprints (sprint planning, daily scrums, sprint review and sprint retro) within the final PRD, and all team members will have scrum and status calls scheduled in their calendars.

Week 10:

Development sprints begin

Week 11 – 25:

Tech development, integration and platform testing

Week 26 – 36:

End to End User testing.

Please provide a detailed budget breakdown.

For a project that lasts 6 months, we estimate that it will cost approximately $225,000.00 +/- (USD). Which is why we ask for a grant of $108,875.00 (USD) from Cardano and Unbox will contribute to the rest ($115,475.00 USD).Image File

Please provide details of the people who will work on the project.

Meet the team working on this project: https://www.unboxuniverse.com/team

If you are funded, will you return to Catalyst in a later round for further funding? Please explain why / why not.

Unbox wishes to develop a long-standing relationship with Cardano and the Cardano community. We want to continue to support and build upon the Cardano chain. We also want to give back to the community where possible. If we are funded, and there is a necessity to come back for further funding or to gauge community feedback. We will absolutely come back. This is a community facing project, and we are very focused on it being done with the Cardano community.

Please describe what you will measure to track your project's progress, and how will you measure these?

In line with the metrics below, we will utilise these as key focal points in how we track the project's success (scope, resources, time and utilisation).

  • Onboarding of Unbox’ existing and future user base onto MyUnbox
  • Increase the number of integrations that bring existing solutions together for a more seamless and connected experience between different CLS products.
  • Increased quality of existing products & integrations through suggested improvements that is supported by customer and user feedback or increased usage by the community.

Scope: Primarily referring to the extent, objectives, and needs of the project. Goals and the resources allocated to achieving them are connected by scaling.

Resources: To maintain your crew functioning effectively, there are three crucial components: people, expertise, and supplies.

Time: The key is effective time management. Setting a deadline, allocating the appropriate resources, and managing key routes are all necessary for a work to be completed effectively (tasks with zero float or no flexibility).

Utilisation: It's crucial to get feedback from the team and Cardano publishers we will be collaborating with after each project and milestone. We need to be able to adapt and learn from the components that work well, the components that go above and beyond expectations, and the components that may be improved going forward.

What does success for this project look like?

There are three indicators of MyUnbox' success. First, providing the Unbox community with a simple means of integrating into the web3 world and the Cardano community. Thereby benefiting both groups. Since our current model is being developed because of the expected rapid user growth (7,282,000 in 2025 forecasted).

Our ultimate objective of assisting people will be more easily achieved because of this collaboration. By fostering greater transparency and veracity throughout the digital information ecosystem, the second goal is to increase awareness of the technology in a variety of fields, from public policy, aid and awareness to infrastructure and development.

The final; deployment speed, is probably the most prominent key performance indicator (KPI) and in our field, the key determinant of success. It measures how well our various components and closed loop solutions cooperate and establishes how quickly data and modelling insights can be applied in the real world for testing, learning, and improving performance. Which, considering the verticals we operate in, is exceedingly important.

Please provide information on whether this proposal is a continuation of a previously funded project in Catalyst or an entirely new one.

Entirely new one.
