Metera Protocol SDK for Index Tokens

Please describe your proposed solution

Investing and managing assets can be challenging for many due to the complexity and hands-on involvement required. This becomes even more daunting with web-3 native assets, where users must not only understand their investments but also navigate the high volatility inherent in the ecosystem.

Metera Protocol offers a marketplace for tokenized investment strategies called MTKs, designed to help users engage with the fast-growing Cardano ecosystem. By providing tailored indexes, MTKs offer instant diversification, helping to reduce the user's exposure to risk.

What are MTKs?

MTKs are asset baskets created by vetted portfolio managers, offering exposure to specific sectors or curated lists of Cardano Native Assets (e.g., DeFi, RealFi, exchanges, metaverse, etc.).

The Importance of Diversification

Diversification is a fundamental principle of safe and effective investing. Rather than putting all your resources into a single asset, spreading investments across various sectors helps mitigate risk. This strategy is crucial in blockchain, a rapidly growing space with great potential but significant risks. Diversification can help protect against the unpredictability of this ecosystem.

Platform Overview

Metera Protocol provides a variety of tokenized strategies and indexes (MTKs) that serve as benchmarks across all sectors of the ecosystem. These strategies reflect current market conditions and deliver reliable return data. Our platform also includes a rating system for indexes, offering users the information they need to make informed decisions on whether to invest or explore other opportunities.

Metera’s Solution

Following a successful testnet, Metera Protocol is preparing to launch on the mainnet. Our platform will allow projects to connect and offer MTKs to their users, providing easy access to diversified investment options and effective risk management.

Please define the positive impact your project will have on the wider Cardano community

Our project will have a positive impact on the wider Cardano community by providing an SDK that simplifies access to our advanced investment tools, enabling developers and projects to integrate tokenized strategies (MTKs) into their own platforms. This empowers the community in several ways:

  1. Enhanced Accessibility: we lower the barrier to entry for projects looking to leverage our tools.
  2. Strengthening Ecosystem Infrastructure: By creating a standardized toolkit for integrating investment strategies, we provide infrastructure that supports the development of financial products within Cardano.
  3. Driving Ecosystem Growth: The SDK makes it easier for projects to offer diversified investment opportunities to their users, attracting new participants to the Cardano ecosystem.
  4. Mitigating Risk for Users: By promoting diversification through MTKs, our project helps users manage the risks associated with the volatility of blockchain assets.

What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability? How do you intend to validate if your approach is feasible?

Metera Protocol has been in the ecosystem for the past couple of years. We have conducted an ISPO with over 34M ADA staked and are currently in testnet thanks to our funded Catalyst 11 proposal.

Our main dev team is TxPipe Shops which is a reputable development company in the ecosystem.

What are the key milestones you need to achieve in order to complete your project successfully?

Milestone 1: API Design

Interface and frontend Design

Output: Open API spec and interface design

Evidence: API spec and figma designs

Milestone 2: API implementation (portfolios states queries, order interactions such as create, cancel and maybe submit TBD)

Output: API works

Evidence: Video of API interacting

Milestone 3: Frontend components implementation (NPM package)

Output: NPM package

Evidence: Video of frontend of the package working

Milestone 4: CI/CD - (NPM package release automation for frontend package(s) and continuously deployable backend)

Output: NPM package published

Final Milestone: Documentation (use cases, accessible, etc..)
