The Cardano-Ledger Live integration was initiated as a collaboration between the Cardano Ambassadors, Strica, and Ledger. While Ledger is responsible for the platform, the responsibility of maintaining each blockchain’s integration falls to its respective community. Our team at Strica will maintain and update the Cardano codebase within Ledger Live over the next 6 months, ensuring compatibility with Ledger’s changes, fixing bugs. This ensures that Cardano users on Ledger Live continue to enjoy a seamless experience.

The problem we aim to solve is maintaining the Cardano-Ledger Live integration, ensuring its continued functionality for Cardano users. Ledger Live supports numerous cryptocurrencies, and ensuring Cardano remains up-to-date and well-maintained helps position Cardano favourably within the broader crypto ecosystem.

Our approach is to maintain open communication with the Ledger team, addressing Cardano-related bugs, queries as we have done since the inception of this integration. Over the next 6 months, we will ensure the Cardano codebase in Ledger Live aligns with Ledger’s ongoing updates and bug fixes. This will guarantee that users can continue to stake, delegate, and interact with the Cardano blockchain seamlessly using Ledger Live.

The project will primarily engage the Cardano and Ledger Live user base. It benefits the Cardano community by ensuring continued support and enhancements for its integration in Ledger Live, which is critical for both existing and new users. The proactive and continuous maintenance we provide helps to ensure that Ledger users enjoy a secure, smooth, and feature-rich experience.

The uniqueness of our solution lies in its ability to guarantee long-term sustainability and performance for Cardano users on Ledger Live. We have a proven track record of successfully completing projects while maintaining high levels of trust and accountability. Since the beginning of the Shelley period, our team has been actively participating in the Cardano ecosystem, successfully developing and maintaining Cardanoscan, a widely used Cardano explorer (cardanoscan.io).

In addition to Cardanoscan, we created Typhon Wallet, a highly recognized and user-friendly wallet that has received widespread acclaim from the Cardano community (typhonwallet.io). This wallet is a direct result of our involvement in the Catalyst program, demonstrating our dedication to innovation and providing vital community solutions. Our team has successfully completed numerous proposals, achieving a 100% completion record, which underscores our commitment to delivering on our promises.

Moreover, we have delivered the integration of Cardano ADA, native tokens, and ADA staking within Ledger Live, which brings the mass user base of Ledger to Cardano, providing a safe and secure custodial wallet solution to the community.

We also contribute to the Cardano ecosystem through various open-source libraries, available on our GitHub repository (Strica GitHub). These libraries reflect our commitment to providing developers with reliable tools and resources that meet high-quality and transparent standards.

The Strica team consists of Cardano enthusiasts who have been actively involved in the ecosystem since the beginning of the Shelley Era. Our team is made up of experts who have successfully developed a Cardano explorer, a user-friendly wallet, and several open-source tools that contribute to the growth and functionality of the Cardano ecosystem.

We do not have any logical dependencies. However, since Ledger Live is maintained by their team, we will ideally need their wallet to remain in existence for the next 6 months to ensure continuous updates.
