"Launching DRMZ Academy: Next-Gen Gamified Learning on Worked.Dev"

Please describe your proposed solution.

Our project addresses the challenge of engaging and effective blockchain education. Not just teaching blockchain technology, but actually teaching by using the technology as part of the course design, to gamify learning using Cardano. We approach this by upgrading Worked.Dev to include gamified, AI-driven learning specifically tailored to Cardano. This unique method will engage students, educators, and professionals, making complex concepts accessible and interesting.

The impact will be demonstrated through increased user engagement, proficiency in blockchain technology, and direct feedback.

This initiative is crucial for Cardano, as it fosters a knowledgeable community, ready to engage with and contribute to the ecosystem, ultimately driving its growth and adoption.

Please define the positive impact your project will have on the wider Cardano community.

Success will bring value to the Cardano community by cultivating a more informed and skilled base of users and developers. We plan to share the outcomes and insights gained from this project through reports and presentations within the Cardano community, highlighting the educational advancements and increased engagement achieved.

The impact of our project will be measured both quantitatively and qualitatively. We'll track user engagement metrics such as workshop attendance, active participation, and the rate of successful completion of modules. Qualitatively, we'll gather feedback through surveys and discussions to assess the enhancement in understanding of Cardano and blockchain technologies.

What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability? How do you intend to validate if your approach is feasible?

Sean Davies is a certified cross-platform mobile app developer who has been working commercially leading the development of production-ready mobile applications and websites for almost a decade.

He has been actively involved in the Cardano community since 2021 and is the creator of The Working Dead NFT which successfully delivered a cross-chain Ed-Tech web3 platform named Worked.Dev which aspires to be a central hub for education in web3.

Who is in the project team and what are their roles?

Rodrigo Gomez is a full-time professor at San Diego Miramar College with experience in edtech design and integration into the classroom. His goal is to integrate this academic version of Worked.Dev into a standard course at San Diego Miramar College to pilot innovative web3 technology in the college classroom.

Sean is the leading dev who will incorporate the Learn to Play mechanism as part of the course creation process on Worked.Dev by allowing the course instructor to embed an Adobe Edge Animate Stage (or similar) as a course lesson for the learner. This will give instructors the flexibility to make advanced, interactive, uniquely animated courses to be shipped.

Please provide a cost breakdown of the proposed work and resources.

The proposed budget breakdown is:

Phase 1: Design Interactive Courses Template (4 weeks)

USD: $15,000 | ADA: 39,474 ADA

(Creating a reusable template which we can distribute to instructors which is a base which can be used to create an interactive, animated stage which we can embed as a lesson on Worked.Dev)

Phase 2: Extend Worked.Dev Lessons to Embed Stages

USD: $15,000 | ADA: 39,474 ADA

(Using the above template, extend Worked.Dev course creation process to allow the instructor to embed a custom stage (a bundle of HTML, CSS, jQuery) which can be rendered as a lesson in Worked).

Phase 3: Beta Testing and User Feedback (6 weeks)

USD: $10,000 | ADA: 26,316 ADA

Phase 4: Post-Launch Support and Evaluation (8 weeks)

USD: $10,000 | ADA: 26,316 ADA

Contingency Fund

USD: $5,000 | ADA: 13,158 ADA

——————————————————————————

Grand Total:

  • USD: $55,000 | ADA: 145,000 ADA

How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?

The cost of our project, carefully budgeted at 145,000 ADA, provides substantial value to the Cardano ecosystem, leveraging the combined strengths of Sean's development expertise and Rodrigo's EdTech experience. Sean's prowess in software development ensures efficient and innovative use of funds for technical aspects, while Rodrigo's educational technology expertise guarantees effective learning outcomes.

The budget aligns with industry standards for such specialized skills. By enhancing Worked.Dev with new features and educational content, the project promises to significantly boost blockchain literacy and practical application, a vital step for the growth and diversification of the Cardano community.
