Solution

Provide platforms for spreading awareness of the Cardano Blockchain and its underlying Haskell use cases, overseen and managed by self-governing DAOs.

Problem

There exists no solution on the Cardano ecosystem, region specific to South-Asia, encouraging the spread of awareness regarding the Cardano blockchain and its implementation of the Haskell language.

Konma x SardaM DAO

Please describe your proposed solution.

As the worldwide hub of Information Technology services, South-Asia stands out in Haskell literacy. However, while the language is being taught ubiquitously in colleges and universities there is a major lack of awareness of its use cases particularly in the form of Cardano's Blockchain. We propose to build various platforms that cater to specific South-Asian regions fragmented by its plethora of languages brought together by self-governing DAOs. These bodies will accelerate the growth of the Cardano ecosystem by encouraging developers to build on-top of the Cardano blockchain.

Please describe how your proposed solution will address the Challenge that you have submitted it in.

By providing a collaborative platform region wise, developers from South-Asia will be able to understand the true scalability and functionality from leaders in the Cardano community. Understanding use-case of Haskell pertaining to blockchains from the experts in their own region will allow for a fairly straightforward and effortless exchange of knowledge.

What are the main risks that could prevent you from delivering the project successfully and please explain how you will mitigate each risk?

Fundamentally, the risk arises through incentivising the developers and members to adopt and build on the Cardano infrastructure. Mitigating this risk would involve providing rewards and grants to the members of the platform. Consequently, the lack of funds would be a major obstacle preventing this project from delivering on its goals.

Please provide a detailed plan, including timeline and key milestones for delivering your proposal.

Our project prepares to achieve its objectives in two major phases.

PHASE 1

 • Build on the existing South-Indian Cardano community, consolidated by our core team.
 • On-board members who are well versed in Haskell/Platus as well as true believers of the Cardano ecosystem across India.

Milestone 1: Reaching over 10,000+ members on our platforms in India.

PHASE 2

 • Expand to regions across South-Asia starting with the untapped markets of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka & Pakistan.
 • Encourage the development of talent across the South-Asian community and amalgamate as a broad non-technical DAO.

Milestone 2: Have a platform for every South-Asian community and a self-governing DAO which oversees all activities across platforms.

Please provide a detailed budget breakdown.

Platform creation

& Web development : $1,000 per platform (10-12 platforms envisioned)

= $12,000

DAO creation : $6,000

Marketing: $15,000

Legal and other fees: $5,000

TOTAL: $38,000

Please provide details of the people who will work on the project.

If you are funded, will you return to Catalyst in a later round for further funding? Please explain why / why not.

Yes, once the community has reached a pivotal level that requires additional funding to continue encouraging members to build on the Cardano blockchain, we will return to catalyst for further funding.

Please describe what you will measure to track your project's progress, and how will you measure these?

Measuring the progress of our campaign will be straightforward as we intend to on-board as many members onto the Cardano community. We will measure the growth of our platforms on a bi-weekly basis and track our progress from the ascertained data. We will also track the level of engagement on each platform in order to analyse the organic strength of the community as a whole.

What does success for this project look like?

Success for this campaign comes in the form of several communities adopting the Cardano blockchain as a development hub, who come together as a part of a democratised body that pushes the advancement of the Cardano ecosystem.

Please provide information on whether this proposal is a continuation of a previously funded project in Catalyst or an entirely new one.

This is a new proposal on Catalyst.
