Solution

I am opening a discussion channel to gather all the knowledge about the specific roles.

Together we will be organizing all these Catalys role activities on Miro Board for visualization.

Problem

We lack an overview of interactions between the Catalyst community roles in different funding stages.

Innovation Fund Research - Roles

Please describe your proposed solution.

Collecting information about the specific roles and their interactions in different funding stages will be done in public workshop sessions using Miro Board. This way, participants can actively add information and interact with other members while analyzing a single funding cycle.

We answer three main questions for each of the selected roles:

 • What selected role activities may you participate in each stage?
 • What competencies selected role should have?
 • How is the selected role related to other Catalyst Roles?

As we go through the collected resources, we will learn to understand what is required to run an Innovation Fund process.

We can use the research to map problems and help improve Project Catalyst processes.

This research focuses on members who already have experience participating in Project Catalyst.

Outcomes are up-to-date Miro Board visualizations with accompanying overview videos.

There will be an audit trail on Miro Board, and workshop sessions will be uploaded to the Swarm Youtube channel.

At a high level, what will be on the Miro Board:

 1. Main Template with Project Catalyst onboarding resources
 2. stage information
 3. role guides
 4. Role Activity perspectives
 5. Catalyst Team Perspective
 6. Proposers Perspective
 7. Proposal Assessors Perspective
 8. Veteran Proposal Assessors Perspective
 9. Challenge Teams Perspective
 10. Circle Members Perspective
 11. Governance Services Guild Perspective
 12. Voters Perspective
 13. voting delegation representative's Perspective

Please describe how your proposed solution will address the Challenge that you have submitted it in.

This research is essential to help to clarify and visualize Cardano Project Catalyst community collaboration. This research will aid in future DAO operations and also matters related to governance.

What are the main risks that could prevent you from delivering the project successfully and please explain how you will mitigate each risk?

The main risk is the community roles and their tasks represented in the Project Catalyst will change over time. The same applies to the funding timeline.

This proposal proposed budget includes incentives to keep the data up to date with changes in Project Catalyst.

The acceptance criteria are not well-defined.

We stick to the guiding questions and will be using the session feedback to recognize is this research is acceptable

Please provide a detailed plan, including timeline and key milestones for delivering your proposal.

Gathering resources for the main template started with Fund 8 and will continue until the end of Fund 11. The estimated project duration is 8 months

I will start facilitating Role Activity Perspective workshops with the start of Fund 10.

There will be at least one workshop session every two weeks. These sessions will produce information about the roles and their connection with the funding cycle on the Miro Board.

The sequence of which roles we analyze is based on the participants feedback.

Milestones

Onboarding and communication channels are established between interested parties.

We are finishing each role perspectives research.

Sharing Overview video of each role research

Please provide details of the people who will work on the project.

Tevo - Co-founder of The Catalyst Swarm and Catalyst School.

I have hands-on knowledge of most of the roles and have actively been learning to understand Innovation Fund from all sides of aspects. I have the experience of facilitating workshops to acquire required information.

I am in close connection with Catalyst Governance bodies and the Project Catalyst Team.

Tõnis - Almost one year of experience in the Mini Proposal workshops as a video editor.

If you are funded, will you return to Catalyst in a later round for further funding? Please explain why / why not.

Yes, I will return since the roles and funding rules in our community are everchanging

Please describe what you will measure to track your project's progress, and how will you measure these?

Tracking participation and feedback of these 9 workshops and using the deliverables as progression indicators on the Miro Board.

We are not starting from scratch. Work has been going on the Miro Board behind the scenes for 3 months. Here are videos from past Innovation Fund Workshops: 1, 2, 3.

Workshop videos will be uploaded to the Catalyst Swarm Youtube channel.

YouTube workshop and overview videos will also show how we arrived at this endpoint.

Measurements we track and want to reach

How many people show up for live workshop sessions?

The goal is at least 7 people per session.

How many views do we capture with Youtube Innovation Fund overview videos?

The goal is 50 views per video

How do participants rate how well was their feedback considered after the session with a 1-5 score rating.

The goal is to achieve a score rating over 4.

What does success for this project look like?

Over 70% of this proposal's funds are distributed to active members of the Catalyst community members who contribute time and effort to make Project Catalyst a Collaborative Ecosystem.

The project will be a success when we have mapped out all the roles, and their tasks, in relation to the Fund 12 funding cycle.

Miro Board is ready when it has most of the relevant role activities visualized on the templates. I would like the Catalyst community members to start using this research for their upcoming proposals as references or updates on the Miro Board to keep it up to date.

Please provide information on whether this proposal is a continuation of a previously funded project in Catalyst or an entirely new one.

I have attempted to create large focused events before which were approved but not funded.

There are proposals that are funded for having focused research and documentation deliverables like Catalyst Circle, Community Governance Oversight and many other QA DAO proposals.
