Solution

My project is geared towards making these Industrialists aware that they can keep ADA as their savings towards future investments; Yoroi wallets will be opened for them and educate them on Cardano.

Problem

Small Scale Industrialists in Ghana are NOT aware of Cardano and ADA; they are NOT aware that they can keep ADA as savings; saving in the normal banks is not encouraging due to low interest rates.

Industrialists As ADA Holders in GHANA

Please describe your proposed solution.

As said earlier, small scale Industrialists in Ghana mostly struggle to save because they do not get any significant interest earned on their deposits; again they have to join long queues in the banks at the time they need their money for imminent investment.

Due to this fact, I seek to propose to help these Industrialists (Local Fruit Juice Manufacturers, Local detergent manufacturers and many others) to turn to Cardano, open Yoroi wallets which is simple to download and open and also not complicated to use, and buy ADA and keep as savings. Those who can become Voters can also do so and thus participate actively in the ecosystem.

I will educate 60 small scale manufacturers across the various sectors by going to them personally in their manufacturing sites to educate them and open wallets for them. The wallet opening will be done by any willing volunteer from Wada Ghana who is available.

With impact, I am looking forward to opening wallets for the after educating them one on one, and depositing 5 ADA to each as a start to whet their appetite to get more ADA. This gesture will automatically increase ADA holders in the community and growth in Cardano as well. As these 60 Industrialists get the benefits of ADA, they will tell others and bring in more people to hold ADA as savings.

How does your proposed solution address the challenge and what benefits will this bring to the Cardano ecosystem?

The Challenge seeks to add on to Cardano ecosystem. This project is aimed at promoting ADA to the small scale Industrialists in Ghana to become ADA holders and eventually some becoming Voters. This is addressing the challenge effectively. Cardano ill grow by 60 ADA holders who will also bring more people when they see the benefits of keeping ADA.

How do you intend to measure the success of your project?

Measure of Success:

  • Number of Industrialists- 60 people accepting to become ADA holders is quite good and Cardano will expand by 60 ADA holders. This happens in the short term
  • ADA holders becoming Voters in the long term
  • 60 ADA holders can also bring more ADA holders in the long term, thereby contributing to growth in Cardano

Please describe your plans to share the outputs and results of your project?

Detailed Plan:

  • Project starts from mid November and ends in December 30th.
  • 60 Industrialists from food industry, detergents and plastic will be contacted in their offices one on one since it is impossible to get these people to leave their sites for a workshop.
  • This will be a daily round work for 2 months to complete
  • Results and reports (document and video) will be shared to the Catalyst Community.

Due to success in the project, I will continue to the next fund and extend the opportunities to more Industrialists since they are far more than 60. 60 has been chosen for the period because of the daily rounds to their sites to educate them one on one and to open Yoroi wallet for them.

What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability?

I am Emelia Sarfo, an active member of the Cardano Community with a track record of two fully completed projects within the stipulated time. Fund 8 and Fund9 Ghana Youth Onboarding Outreach 1 and 2 respectively. These projects were executed with minimum fund of 4500USD and 5500USD respectively and brought to Cardano ecosystem over 150 youth registering on Ideascale and opening Yoroi wallets with ADA, some of which have become active members in Africa Town Hall and the ecosystem in general.

I am a trusted member. Professionally I am a Human Resource Consultant with over 25 years experience. In the Cardano Community, I was a CA for Fund 6, 7 and 8; PA for Fund9; vCA for Fund7 and vPA for Fund9 with high reputation. I was a member of Challenge Team for Fund8 and Fund 9 Grow Africa Grow Cardano Challenge and currently I am a member of the Fund 10 StartUps & Student Onboarding Challenge Team.

My previous completed projects show that I can be trusted with funds and I will deliver to expectation.

What are the main goals for the project and how will you validate if your approach is feasible?

Objectives:

  • Educate and open Yoroi wallets for 60 small scale Industrialists in Ghana
  • Increase ADA holders in the Cardano ecosystem
  • 60 ADA holders can become Voters in the long term.

Goals:

  • Cardano will grow by 60 member ADA holders and also growth in ADA.
  • Stake Pools also expand because ADA holders will delegate their ADA.
  • Cardano ADA becomes popular in Ghana

Any available volunteer form Wada Ghana. Wada Ghana has many experts and Cardano Community members so any one who is available such as Richmond Oppong or Kingsley Ampofo can do the wallet opening.

How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?

Looking at the cost of living in Ghana presently, transportation and all economic activities have become unbearable. But I have managed to cut the budget low to gain value for the work that is to be done.

At the end of this project, the Industrialists who become ADA holders may eventually become voters and DReps to grow the Cardano ecosystem.

These Industrialists in Ghana have a lot of unbanked cash due to inability to visit the banks often to deposit through long queues. By buying ADA subsequently online, transactions and savings become easier for them. Having much ADA will lead them to roles such as Voters and DReps. This is great value for money for the Cardano ecosystem.
