Indonesian Cardano Developers Community Workshop 2024

Please describe your proposed solution.

Problem:

 • Often new people want to act as traders and speculators who only use blockchain and crypto assets to the extent of trading and flipping assets, so many criticize blockchain and crypto assets as having no value and use.
 • Most blockchain developers and software engineers only know EVM blockchain-based development tools such as Web3JS, Solidity, Truffle, Metamask, etc. Not many developers and software engineers know about Cardano blockchain development tools.
 • When learning how to become a Cardano developer and how to build on Cardano, many beginners experience difficulties because they haven't found a clear roadmap or learning pathway.
 • There is not much educational content about Cardano Developer, especially in Indonesian language.

Solution:

 • Create a Cardano Developer Community and then hold workshops consistently three times a month for one year. Consistency is the key to success in the field of education.
 • Inviting people from other blockchain communities and blockchain developers communities in Indonesia such as BlockDev.id to learn together about building on Cardano.
 • Delivering material starting from the basics and foundation such as how to use the terminal, package manager, versioning control system GIT, basics programming, and web development then continuing with Cardano core concepts, Cardano SDK, Web3 libraries on Cardano and smart contract programming. Topics related above will be discussed in the workshop.
 • Uploading each recorded workshop video to the Cardano Indonesia YouTube channel so that the contents can be watched and studied again by the community and the general public.

Please define the positive impact your project will have on the wider Cardano community.

 • There is a developers community forum for learning, discussing and innovating on Cardano in Indonesia.
 • There is educational content available for developers and software engineers in Indonesia that is easy to access and free for anyone who wants to learn Cardano.
 • The Indonesian Cardano community and the general public are familiar about educational platform for developers and software engineers such as Cardano Developer Portal, IOG Academy: Haskell course, Plutus Pioneer Program, Cardano Academy: Cardano Blockchain Certified Associate (CBCA), Atala PRISM Pioneer Program, Gimbalabs Plutus Project Based Learning, MeshJS Project Based Learning, and other educational platform not mentioned one by one which are useful for building on Cardano.
 • The Indonesian Cardano community and the general public are familiar about developer tools on Cardano such as Cardano wallet applications, Cardano-cli, Blockfrost-API, Demeter, MeshJS, PlutusTx, Marlowe, Aiken, Plu-TS, Opshin, and other tools not mentioned one by one which are useful for building on Cardano.
 • Indonesia is a country that has great potential for adopting blockchain technology especially Cardano because this country has several opportunities, being the 4th largest internet user in the world and also the 4th largest owner and user of crypto assets in the world and the most potential is that Indonesia in the state of demographic bonus where many young generations who have been exposed to technology from an early age so that by building a community of Indonesian Cardano developers and hold workshops consistently, it will have a potential to produce digital talents who will become developers and software engineers to build on Cardano.

What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability? How do you intend to validate if your approach is feasible?

Capability

I am confident enough to deliver this project within 12 months because I have experience hosting workshops & teaching and also my background is in the engineering field. I can also adapt quickly to technological developments, which can be seen from my track record since my study at university studied electrical engineering then switched profession to the IT field, especially data engineering, then switched again to the field of software engineering and the Cardano blockchain. Below is my profile, portfolio, and certification:

Validation

Quantitative:

 • Track the number of workshops conducted within the 12-month period. This includes the total count of workshops held, their duration, and the variety of topics covered.
 • Monitor the completion and upload of 36 recorded workshop videos. Ensure that these videos are accessible to the Indonesian Cardano community and the general public. Track the number of views, likes, and comments on these videos over time.
 • Quantify the growth of new members and subscribers on the Cardano Indonesia Developer Community Telegram channel. Track the increase in subscribers to the Komunitas Cardano Indonesia YouTube channel. These metrics can reflect the expanding reach of this workshops educational content.

Qualitative:

 • Gather feedback from workshop participants, community members, and viewers of recorded workshop videos as tutorials. Pay attention to their comments, suggestions, and testimonials regarding the quality of workshops, contents, and its relevance to their needs.
 • Monitor and engage with the Cardano Indonesia Developer Community. Assess the level of engagement, discussions, and collaborations happening within the community.
 • Assess the impact of workshops and tutorials on the learning curve of community members. Look for examples of individuals who have applied the knowledge gained from your sessions in their challenge projects.

 • Zoom yearly subscription = 442 ADA
 • Emergency funds or other unexpected expenses = 264 ADA

How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?

To define and determine the cost of the project, use the following methods and steps:

 • Step 1: determine the ADA/USD rate by carrying out technical analysis of price action and determining the support and resistance values then taking the average value. Analyze using the charts on the Tradingview site.
 • Step 2: do research on salaries and compensation for job positions related to this project. Research via the Payscale site.
 • Step 3: carry out final calculations to obtain a fairly accurate and fair compensation value.

Determine ADA/USD Rate:

Based on technical analysis of price action, it appears that the trend is still bearish with signs of price moving below the moving average of 90. From January 2023 – November 2023 there are 3 crucial Support and Resistance areas, namely at the price of 0.4524 (the highest price in 2023), 0.3244, and 0.2422 (lowest price in 2023). If you calculate the average price, you get a value of 0.3397.

Salary / Compensation Research:

The research uses a fairly trusted reference source, namely the Payscale website. The following are the data obtained:

 • Average Software engineer / Developer / Programmer compensation is $76.5K/year, so estimate $40/hour.
 • Average Lecturer compensation is $52K/year, so estimate $27/hour.
 • Average Project Manager compensation is $72K/year, so estimate $38/hour.
 • Average Video Editor compensation is $46.5K/year, so estimate $25/hour.

Note: To estimate the hourly rate, the following calculations are made: Average salary per year / 12 months / 20 working days / 8 working hours.

Final Calculation:

In this project there are three job positions, namely teacher/workshop tutor, project manager, and video editor.

 • The job position as a teacher/workshop tutor must be someone who has a software engineer/developer/programmer background but must have teaching skills as a lecturer, therefore this position has a double role. Here is the compensation calculation: ($27 + $40)/0.3397 = 197 ADA/hour (rounding).
 • Job position as project manager in charge of accounting, KPI tracking, creating monthly and closing reports. Here is the compensation calculation: $38/0.3397 = 112 ADA/hour (rounding).
 • Job position as a video editor in charge of Designing thumbnails, editing and improving the quality of workshop video recordings, and uploading videos. The following is the compensation calculation: $25/0.3397 = 74 ADA/hour (rounding).
 • Zoom Pro subscription fee: $150/0.3397 = 442 ADA.
