Please describe your proposed solution.
Initially, we presented this proposal in F10, receiving a High rating. However, regrettably, it has not secured funding as of now.
To address the scalability needs of Cardano, IOG has introduced various on-chain and off-chain solutions. These solutions include block size increases, pipelining, input endorsers, memory/CPU parameter optimizations for Plutus scripts, Plutus script enhancements, node enhancements, on-disk storage improvements, sidechains, Hydra, off-chain computing and Mithril.
The Hydra Head protocol is the basis for creating a second layer for Cardano that will enable sub-one-second settlements, low to near zero fees, and reduce space requirements on the blockchain. It will allow the creation of a parallel network that will process user transactions in an off-chain manner. This means that the Cardano network does not need to verify these transactions and does not need to store them on the blockchain. So thanks to Hydra, Cardano has the potential to achieve scalability of up to 1 million transactions per second (TPS).
Currently, there are several Hydra manuals available in English. These tutorials cover topics such as operating the Hydra node, developing Hydra, using Hydra… However, it is important to note that these resources are currently available in English, which may not be appropriate and can pose a barrier for Non-Native English Community Developers.
In the Cardano Foundation's report "Annual Report 2022", it is pointed out that Education is one of the three focus areas of CF's actions in the coming time to boost resources for the Cardano ecosystem.
Our proposed solution aims to address the challenges faced by non-native English-speaking developers in accessing educational resources about Hydra. These developers often face difficulties due to language barriers, scattered documentation on the internet and a lack of community support.
To overcome these challenges, we propose to create a Hydra course in the form of videos. This course will cover various aspects of Hydra, including installation, demos, operating a Hydra node, Hydra development, using Hydra, the Hydra Head Protocol, use cases. By offering this video course, we aim to provide a comfortable and accessible learning experience for Non-Native English Community Developers.
Our solution will not only bridge the language gap but also provide a centralized and cohesive resource. Non-Native English Community Developers can rely on this resource to learn and use Hydra.
