Please describe your proposed solution.
- How you perceive the problem you are solving.
This collaboration between Scaleway, as one of the largest cloud service providers in Europe, and FluxusNetwork, as a partner from the Cardano ecosystem, offers numerous benefits to new and existing projects that currently lack options and therefore have to keep relying on Catalyst funding. To support projects, we aim to provide them with the best training in start-up, server and project delivery, while helping them to become self-sufficient.
Most projects from new contributors to our ecosystem don't plan to go beyond the part of creating something of value for our ecosystem, and we want to provide them with the tools to become long term, active members for our ecosystem.
- Their reasons for the kind of approach they are taking
Scaleway is a large company with many connections to industries and governments. They have the expertise and capacity to support our ecosystem and have been trusted partners of FluxusNetwork for over a year. They are willing to share their vast resources to help us secure more successful projects that turn into businesses that can help us take our developer ecosystem to new heights of productivity.
- Who will your project involve?
We will communicate openly with Catalyst about what the needs of the emerging projects are and how we can support them. These projects will then be taken over by Scaleway, and Scaleway's experts will do the rest of the work.
- How will you demonstrate or prove your impact?
It will be quite easy for us to demonstrate that several projects/businesses are receiving active Scaleway start-up support. Participation in educational masterclasses, external meetings with investors and setting up servers or security systems will be well documented and presented as transparently as everything else in the FluxusNetwork.
How does your proposed solution address the challenge and what benefits will this bring to the Cardano ecosystem?
- Bring more Web2 companies, funds, best practices and support into the Cardanos ecosystem.
- Reduce the number of one-off projects by connecting, educating and supporting them to increase the number of our developers and their reach across companies, countries and continents.
- new projects already have a head start when server costs are covered by scaleway
additional training for start-ups, which is currently completely lacking in the ecosystem
How do you intend to measure the success of your project?
We will start by enrolling at least two companies in the Scaleways and FluxusNetworks Startup Programme and offer all metrics of care for the community to evaluate:
- How many educational opportunities will be provided to companies for free?
- What are the masterclasses about?
- Has there been increased adoption of web2 partners in web3?
- Has the support actually helped the projects to increase the likelihood of being successful with their proposals?
- To what extent have they been supported and how can we increase this further in the community?
Please describe your plans to share the outputs and results of your project?
We will produce monthly reports for the community to keep them informed of any new developments, and we are planning a big evaluation presentation at a town hall after we have taken up projects and they have benefited from the start-up program.
