Solution

Flooftopia will produce interoperability between multiple NFT projects. The first of which is AdaQuest, and will provide value/interoperability to other NFT Projects, through Flooftopia’s ecosystem.

Problem

Cardano is a 3rd generation crypto that with a core value of interoperability, and only recently have a few projects embraced this quality. This core value needs to be expanded upon.

Flooftopia: NFT Interoperability

Please describe your proposed solution.

Flooftopia is proposing to build interoperability between our NFT project (and the MMORPG game) and other Cardano NFT projects. As Cardano is a 3rd generation cryptocurrency, one of Cardano’s core values are interoperability. We have seen some interoperability between Cardano NFT Projects, but there can be more interoperability.

Flooftopia aims to be the first, if not one of the first, MMORPG games with web 3.0 integration. With this, we hope to bring value and benefit other NFT projects, the holders of those NFT Projects, and the CNFT ecosystem.

Please describe how your proposed solution will address the Challenge that you have submitted it in.

Flooftopia is a MMORPG game with Cardano-based web 3.0 integration. This means that it would have direct operations within the dApp community, and, with our goal to benefit dApps, NFT projects, and their users, Flooftopia’s value proposition of building further NFT interoperability addresses the challenge of dApps, products, & integrations!

What are the main risks that could prevent you from delivering the project successfully and please explain how you will mitigate each risk?

Many of the possible risks, shortcomings, or challenges are already being mitigated. I have put in a lot of funding myself to get to where we are. Therefore, we can say that, should we not get funding, we are still going to be producing Flooftopia. We are also working with Red Potion Studios (the group behind AdaQuest), so we have great partners to help us along the way.

Please provide a detailed plan, including timeline and key milestones for delivering your proposal.

-- Q3 of 2022 –

  • Begin reaching out to other NFT projects about mutual interoperability potential.
  • Finish interoperability with AdaQuest.

-- Q2 of 2022 –

  • Completed interoperability with > 3 projects.
  • Begin seeking interoperability potential with non-Cardano NFT projects.

-- Q3-4 of 2022 –

  • Completed interoperability with > 7 projects.

Please provide a detailed budget breakdown.

Marketing: Conward is the lead of marketing and founder of Flooftopia! He has been within the Cardano Ecosystem for 3 years. He is the host of The Cardano Convo Podcast, and he is an avid gamer at heart. After noticing that there weren't any NFT games being built for a broad demographic, he began putting together the ideas that would define Flooftopia!

(LinkedIn: <https://www.linkedin.com/in/conwardswift/>)

Together, we have decades of professional gaming, Cardano NFT, and business experience. We know that games are a great way to bring people together and into the Cardano Ecosystem. With this in mind, we will build an NFT ecosystem that closer resembles Cardano’s core value of interoperability, and we will do this through example with Flooftopia.

If you are funded, will you return to Catalyst in a later round for further funding? Please explain why / why not.

If we are funded, we should not require further funding under interoperability. We are aiming to get to a point of financial sustainability through the sales of NFTs.

Please describe what you will measure to track your project's progress, and how will you measure these?

We will be able to measure the progress of the development of our project by how closely we are able to keep to our timeline.

But more specifically, we'd be measuring:

  • Number of Cardano NFT Projects that have interoperability between them and Flooftopia.
  • Number of non-Cardano NFT Projects that have interoperability between them and Flooftopia.

This information would be readily broadcasted to users in both the partnered project and Flooftopia, and would be readily available for the wider Cardano Community.

What does success for this project look like?

Success for this proposal would be meeting the deadlines and partnered goals listed above. Specifically, success would be Flooftopia becoming a hub for other projects seeking interoperability with Flooftopia NFTs and game, and having greater than 7 projects with which Flooftopia shares interoperability with.

Please provide information on whether this proposal is a continuation of a previously funded project in Catalyst or an entirely new one.

This is not a previously funded proposal.
