"The medium is the message." Marshall McLuhan
Blockchain technology and particularly the Cardano network have the potential to change the distribution of content. The best way to do so is by showcasing its capabilities by applying these new technologies to a concrete example.
We all are familiar with what a cinema festival is. They are often used by industries, nations, and private entities to attract people to a particular country or industry. The dFest would be carried out in a decentralized format.
- There would be an NFT ticket sale
- The tickets would allow people to participate in live chats while the dFest takes place
- Each ticket would be a vote for the best films shown
- There would be panels of industry experts discussing the films, but each would have a ticket to vote and no greater power
- The sale of tickets would be used to raise the prize money for the different categories.
- The films would be stored on a decentralized file system. Tentatively Airweave.
In principle, we would follow a very similar format to the A Failed Artist documentary:

Only expanded to encompass a whole host of genres across several regions of the world.
a decentralized cinema festival is the perfect vehicle to showcase the power of Blockchain technology, NFT use cases, and the Cardano network. It will deliver in the following categories:
Increase the number of multimedia projects
Create a new novel multimedia platform
The decentralized festival will accept entire from all over increasing multilingual teams
Incentivize decentralized film crews
Create a series of decentralized news teams
Multiply the decentralized content creation by fil crews from many regions of the world.
The main risk would be a lack of project submissions in the form of films. To avoid this, as soon as possible the groundwork has to be laid where we contact film production, cultural offices of governments, and promote the dFest to everyone who wants to participate.
Cardano network congestion is another challenge. The Cardano blockchain is undergoing growing pains, and these will continue throughout the year. This makes minting NFTs sometimes a slow process that can lead to frustration, especially to those not familiar with the technology.
Here an ample window to sell the NFT tickets is needed. Plus education on what an NFT is and how the Cardano native token standard is different.
