CIPs for a Sustainable Future: Funding Community-Driven Proposals Aligned with SDGs

Please describe your proposed solution.

Our proposed solution aims to establish a program that funds and supports community-driven Cardano Improvement Proposals (CIPs) aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By providing funding, guidance, and resources, we aim to foster innovation, address global challenges, and promote sustainable development within the Cardano ecosystem.

How does your proposed solution address the challenge and what benefits will this bring to the Cardano ecosystem?

Our solution addresses the challenge of limited funding and support for community-driven CIPs by establishing a dedicated program. By aligning with the SDGs, we ensure that CIPs address global challenges and promote sustainable development. This program will attract innovative proposals, engage a diverse range of stakeholders, and create a more sustainable and inclusive Cardano ecosystem that contributes to the betterment of the world.

How do you intend to measure the success of your project?

  • Number of funded CIPs aligned with the SDGs.
  • Level of community engagement and participation in the program.
  • Impact of funded CIPs on addressing global challenges and promoting sustainable development.
  • Feedback and satisfaction of project participants and stakeholders.
  • Increased usability and accessibility of Cardano through the implementation of funded CIPs.

Please describe your plans to share the outputs and results of your project?

  • Regular Updates: Providing regular updates on project progress, milestones, and outcomes through project documentation and reports.
  • Publications: Publishing relevant findings, best practices, and lessons learned in the form of research papers or articles.
  • Community Engagement: Organizing workshops, webinars, and community forums to engage stakeholders, gather feedback, and encourage collaboration.
  • Social Media and Online Platforms: Utilizing social media channels and online platforms to share project updates, outcomes, and success stories.

What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability?

Our team consists of experienced project managers, blockchain experts, and sustainability professionals. We have a track record of delivering projects with high levels of trust, transparency, and accountability. We will adhere to project management best practices, maintain open communication with stakeholders, and ensure regular reporting to ensure trust and accountability throughout the project.

What are the main goals for the project and how will you validate if your approach is feasible?

The main goals for the project include:

  • Establishing the CIP funding program and guidelines.
  • Reviewing and evaluating CIP proposals aligned with the SDGs.
  • Selecting and funding the most promising CIPs.
  • Monitoring and assessing the progress and impact of funded CIPs.

We will validate the feasibility of our approach through a comprehensive review process, engaging the Cardano community and relevant stakeholders in the evaluation and selection of CIPs. Regular monitoring and impact assessment will provide insights into the effectiveness of the program.

Please provide a detailed breakdown of your project’s milestones and each of the main tasks or activities to reach the milestone plus the expected timeline for the delivery.

Milestone 1: Program Setup and Guidelines (Months 1-2)

  • Establish the CIP funding program framework and guidelines.
  • Define the criteria and process for selecting CIPs aligned with the SDGs.

Milestone 2: Call for CIPs and Evaluation (Months 3-6)

  • Publicize the CIP funding program and call for CIP submissions.
  • Review, evaluate, and select CIPs aligned with the SDGs for funding.

Milestone 3: Funding and Implementation (Months 7-10)

  • Provide funding and support to selected CIPs.
  • Monitor and support the implementation of funded CIPs.

Milestone 4: Impact Assessment and Reporting (Months 11-12)

  • Assess the impact of funded CIPs on addressing global challenges and promoting sustainable development.
  • Prepare and share comprehensive reports on the outcomes and learnings of the funded CIPs.

Please describe the deliverables, outputs and intended outcomes of each milestone.

Milestone 1: Program Setup and Guidelines

  • Established CIP funding program framework and guidelines.
  • Clearly defined criteria and process for selecting CIPs aligned with the SDGs.

Milestone 2: Call for CIPs and Evaluation

  • Publicized CIP funding program and received CIP submissions.
  • Evaluated and selected CIPs aligned with the SDGs for funding.

Milestone 3: Funding and Implementation

  • Provided funding and support to selected CIPs.
  • Supported and monitored the implementation of funded CIPs.

Milestone 4: Impact Assessment and Reporting

  • Assessed the impact of funded CIPs on global challenges and sustainable development.
  • Prepared and shared comprehensive reports on the outcomes and learnings of the funded CIPs.

Please provide a detailed budget breakdown of the proposed work and resources.

Developer Grants (90% of the budget): 225,000 ADA

This allocation is dedicated to providing grants to developers who contribute to the project.

  • The funds will be distributed to developers based on their proposals and the evaluation of their skills, experience, and alignment with project goals.
  • The grants will support the development of new features, bug fixes, optimizations, and other contributions that enhance the project's functionality and ecosystem.

Program Management and Administration (10% of the budget): 25,000 ADA

  • This portion covers the costs associated with managing and administering the developer fund program.
  • It includes activities such as reviewing and evaluating grant proposals, coordinating with developers, ensuring timely disbursement of funds, and overall program oversight.
  • Additionally, this budget allocation may cover administrative expenses such as documentation, reporting, and communication with the community.

Who is in the project team and what are their roles?

  • Project Manager: Responsible for overall project coordination, management, and reporting.
  • Sustainability Professionals: Bring knowledge and insights into sustainable development and impact assessment.

How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?

The cost of this project represents an investment in the sustainable development of the Cardano ecosystem. By funding community-driven CIPs aligned with the SDGs, we promote innovation, address global challenges, and increase the usability and accessibility of Cardano. The value for money lies in the positive impact of funded CIPs, the engagement of the Cardano community, and the long-term growth and sustainability of the ecosystem, contributing to a better and more sustainable world.
