Please describe your proposed solution

In collaboration with cocoa farmers' associations and local chocolate producers, we plan to develop a system to trace cocoa origins used in chocolate production and personalize products with QR codes linked to NFTs crafted by local artists. Each chocolate bar purchased will contain an NFT, claimable before the product's end of life, providing insights into cocoa farming conditions through videos, images, and unique artworks usable as avatars. Consumers will also have voting rights to decide on the type of development services or infrastructure (e.g., schools, medical centers, electrification) to be implemented in the cocoa farm's region by our non-profit association.

Success will demonstrate how technology can improve lives along the production chain.

What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability? How do you intend to validate if your approach is feasible?

Our established entity has a proven track record in community service through educational initiatives. We were among the first members of the WADA consortium but have faced challenges due to language barriers in Côte d'Ivoire. Our team includes doctors, civil servants, and students.

Milestone 1: Formal engagement from one or more cocoa producer associations, evidenced by a signed agreement and media coverage of the signing event.

Milestone 2: Formal engagement from one or more chocolate producers with international clients, supported by a signed agreement and media coverage of chocolate production, focusing on packaging.

Final Milestone: Completion of a technical paper detailing the rules for NFT possession and exchange, published under a CC-BY-NC license.
