Catalyst After Town Hall Entrepreneurship Series

Please describe your proposed solution.

The purpose of this project is to provide entrepreneurship classes at the Catalyst After Town Hall. These classes will cover a variety of topics, including opportunity identification, business planning, financial planning, marketing, sales, customer service, teamwork, leadership, ethics, growth, and succession planning. The classes will be taught by Lloyd Duhon, COO of DripDropz and an experienced entrepreneur and business professional.

The classes will be held every other Wednesday of each month from 11 October 2023 through 28 February 2024. Each class will be one hour long. The classes will be held in a breakout room at the conclusion of the main Town Hall event

The target audience for the classes is Cardano blockchain enthusiasts and Catalyst project builders who are interested in entrepreneurship and want to improve their Cardano Businesses.

The classes will be interactive and engaging. Participants will have the opportunity to participate in discussions, exercises, and projects. They will also have the opportunity to network with other professionals in our space.

The classes will provide the participants with the knowledge and skills they need to start or improve their own businesses. The participants will learn how to identify business opportunities, write business plans, raise capital, market their products or services, and sell their products or services. They will also learn about customer service, teamwork, leadership, ethics, growth, and succession planning.

The classes will help to create a more entrepreneurial community. The community members who participate in the classes will be more likely to start their own businesses. They will also be more likely to contribute to the Cardano economy.

How does your proposed solution address the challenge and what benefits will this bring to the Cardano ecosystem?

The Catalyst Open Category has four requirements.

  • small
  • short
  • open source
  • unable to fit into any other Fund 10 challenge.

This proposal fits all four. We believe that this is a valuable project that will benefit our whole community. The entrepreneurship classes will provide participants with the knowledge and skills they need to start their own businesses.

This is a stand alone project, however if the community is receptive, there are other opportunities for classes that can be produced in a similar format in future funding rounds.

We are below the category maximum price, and set at exactly the 6 months of the required short time window.

All of our production will be released to the community under the https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Licensing.

We do not fit in another category because there is no category currently for educational classes for the Cardano community.

How do you intend to measure the success of your project?

The project will be successful if an after town hall session is completed, and the video is uploaded to YouTube every other Wednesday for the duration. Additional success will be measured by the number of Short segments produced, and the number of views accumulated by the project over the lifetime of the project.

Please describe your plans to share the outputs and results of your project?

The completed videos from each session will be shared on YouTube. Shorts will be created from each session and will be shared on YouTube, Twitter, and TikTok. At the end of each month, a report will be provided with views for each video. Every Presentation material that is produced will be linked in the video description.

What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability?

Lloyd Duhon is a long standing community member, COO of DripDropz, and supporting team member for a number of projects in the Cardano Ecosystem. Lloyd has provided entrepreneurial lessons in After Town Hall sessions to the Catalyst community since June of 2022.

The DripDropz media team has successfully delivered social media projects and YouTube videos for 2 years, and their work can be seen across all major social media platforms.

What are the main goals for the project and how will you validate if your approach is feasible?

The main goal is to provide a more structured set of entrepreneurship classes to the Catalyst community to assist in the maturation of the Catalyst space by teaching foundational skills that every project owner can use to improve their productivity and output. We will validate our approach via typical social media metrics, and through increased participation in after town hall classes.

Please provide a detailed breakdown of your project’s milestones and each of the main tasks or activities to reach the milestone plus the expected timeline for the delivery.

Please provide a detailed budget breakdown of the proposed work and resources.

The total budget for this project is 74,700 ADA. The budget will be used to offset the costs of building out lesson plans, performing research to ensure that topics remain relevant to the Cardano community, provide the classes and supporting workshops, and then upload an edited finished product to YouTube, and create YouTube/Twitter/TikTok Short videos to further promote and educate within the community.

  • 5200 ADA per session for 11 Sessions
  • 1600 ADA for Research/Planning time
  • 600 ADA for Presentation Creation
  • 1500 ADA for Presentation Time
  • 1500 ADA for Post production editing and release on social media
  • 17500 ADA for Operational Overhead (Monthly Reporting, Milestone Reporting, fund management.)

Who is in the project team and what are their roles?

Lloyd Duhon - Entrepreneur and Host

DripDropz Media Team - Presentation Support & Post Production/Social Management

How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?

The entrepreneurship classes at the Catalyst After Town Hall will provide participants with the knowledge and skills they need to start or improve their own businesses. Many Catalyst projects can benefit from additional entrepreneurial learning to help their project grow and succeed.

The classes will be taught by an experienced entrepreneur and business professional. The classes will be interactive and engaging. The community will have the opportunity to participate in discussions, exercises, and projects. They will also have the opportunity to network with other professionals. This will build a network effect of more projects with stronger business skills, growing our community to new heights.

The Social media aspect of the proposal will also help grow Cardano as it will target entrepreneurs who are not yet aware of the Cardano community. This will hopefully encourage new participants in our space to further onboard a broader network.
