Please describe your proposed solution.
DR ADAKU & FRIENDS
Music is a great way to spread messages and create change. Our solution aims to use music in the form of a concert to tell the world about Cardano, starting with Nigeria (Lagos) and Ghana (Accra). This is a huge project but certainly achievable. We will ongoingly recruit exceptional teams who will help to make this a huge success but we will also educate hundreds of people as a result of our efforts with the plan of growing bigger and bigger.
A range of cNFTs will also be available as 'VIP' with extra perks.
Please describe how your proposed solution will address the Challenge that you have submitted it in.
There is so much potential for African youths especially to change their lives with Cardano, specifically Project Catalyst especially with opportunities to become Proposal Assessors, so more people need to know about the ecosystem! We can deliver this message through music in the form of a concert with known artists (given the budget :)).
We will have two concerts in the first instance: one in Lagos (Nigeria) and one in Accra (Ghana), we will then collaborate with those from the ecosystem in other African countries to run events in other places like South Africa especially because of the incredible global love for Amapiano music. If this current budget allows, we will start recruiting and reaching out to reps in other countries who have the skills to organise concerts in their corresponding countries. This will be a movement!
We will have educational sessions through Instagram live, Tik Tok and zoom to educate people on what Cardano is and what Project Catalyst is too. In order to purchase a ticket to the concert, attendees would have to use a Cardano wallet hence prior education is key. Thus ADA is the only way that attendees can attend the concert. We will also pay concert staff in ADA too. These aforementioned efforts mean a huge potential for new people to explore Cardano in a practical way. By actually downloading a wallet, making purchases using ADA and using that to attend a real life event. We will also do fun giveaways and have an accessibility pot for those who can't afford it but would like to attend. Emphasis on Project Catalyst having the potential to change lives will be emphasised especially even through the means of doing 'Project Assessment' - given the exchange rates, this could really create streams of incomes for the youth.
As re-iterated, education is key for the success of this challenge and this will be a core part of the concert. Even as we encourage those to become Proposal Assessors, we would want to ensure they have substantial training on Cardano and Project Catalyst so that they are able to deliver great and useful reviews.
What are the main risks that could prevent you from delivering the project successfully and please explain how you will mitigate each risk?
We need to be accessible, and we will. For example, we may need to consider data required on phones to even access the educational resources that we aim to put out, especially if these are in the form of video. We will make attempts to ensure the file sizes are as small as possible (for this reason) without compromising quality. We will have a pot of funds for those who will like to get involved but do not have the financial means to do so (data, tickets etc), and this is where the proposal really comes to life. Not only are we teaching African youths how to get involved in the ecosystem in a number of ways but we'll have employment opportunities via the concerts as we'd need people to work before, during and after.
