Cardano Solutions to Property Industry Problems

Please describe your proposed solution.

Solve Property Problems with a research based DApp Prototype

We propose to conduct further research, design, develop, and test a prototype for property solutions based on the Cardano blockchain. The identified problems encompass:

  • Property sales issues
  • Property management challenges
  • Property rental problems
  • Property tokenization
  • Property ownership concerns

Prototype on Cardano Blockchain

To prevent tampering with property ownership and location data, we will employ the secure Cardano blockchain, ensuring the integrity of such information.

For instance, in Johannesburg, numerous buildings have been illegally occupied, with their data altered, placing owners in a losing battle to reclaim them.

Varsetile Decentralized App

The decentralized application (DApp) we envision will empower buyers, sellers, families, and descendants to leverage the security features of the Cardano blockchain for storing ownership records and proofs of purchase. Even individuals without national identities, foreigners, or those facing disadvantages will have easy access to Cardano wallets with affordable transaction fees.

The DApp also aims to address challenges in the distribution of deceased estates, where evidence is often lost, stolen, altered, or erased.

DApp Prototype for global usage

In South Africa, informal settlements pose a significant problem. Occupants residing in these settlements for extended periods face difficulties in making property claims during relocation due to the lack of legal documents. This is where our DApp becomes instrumental. It enables impoverished occupants to record and store evidence of property, including construction details, date, time, and location, on the Cardano blockchain.

Moreover, the DApp isn't limited to solving issues within the South African property industry; it extends its benefits to countries worldwide, spanning developed, developing, and underdeveloped nations.

Please define the positive impact your project will have on the wider Cardano community.

  1. This will grow Cardano tools usecases.
  2. Merry the Cardano blockchain to traditional property and legal industries
  3. Increase Cardano Treasurer collections from transactions fees because the whole world of property will utilize Cardano's secure IT tools
  4. This will create a big demand for Cardano developers, marketers and investors
  5. Differential Cardano community from other blockchains and make it appealing for governments and municipalities and banks
  6. Increase Cardano adoption because Cardano will be solving real life day to day problems.

What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability? How do you intend to validate if your approach is feasible?

Local Government Property Experience

We are currently servicing local government with web solutions on property locations, stands verifications, property meters(water/electricity <https://matlosana-meter-reading.co.za/>), credit control on 3 provinces including metros. We are connected to professional property agents where we buy properties from and local community rates payers(<https://www.linmeyer.co.za/business/property>)

We have run Cardano Summits, Events with our own finances before. No reason to be unreliable as we are on Cardano communities growth path

  • Approximately 90% of the financial operations at Cardano Centre Johannesburg are attributed to Tobb Technologies Pty Ltd and Women In Move Solutions Pty Ltd. These operations include rentals, equipment expenses, and event costs (e.g., Cardano Summit 2023 Johannesburg) as well as student stipend payments. The Catalyst will support these initiatives, aiding the move towards long-term sustainability and the onboarding of more individuals in South Africa.

Proof the approach will work is we have managed to run it at a small scale for at least 12 months

  • From 2015 to 2023, we have dedicated ourselves to developing and operating web applications focused on government/municipalities. These applications encompass tasks such as water and electricity meter reading, disconnections/reconnections, pretermination notice deliveries, and meter location and verification systems/applications.

We successfully produced commercial applications used nationally and have successfully assisted graduates with employment

  • Through Tobb Technologies Pty Ltd, the IT software development company, we have successfully produced and implemented web applications. These systems have been thoroughly tested across more than 20 districts, resulting in the generation of over 5 million rands in revenue.

We have a reputation to keep with high schools and tertiary institutions we have partnered with e.g. Richfield, Phoenix, Forest, Hope and we have mastered various programming languages

  • The team is composed of full-time and part-time qualified and experienced individuals, working with over 15 different programming languages.

We have been trained in Various Cardano skills

  • We took part in Plutus Pioneer training led by Dr. Lars, received training from Gimbalabs, Haskell certification from Luxembourg University, and completed courses on Atala Prism 1 and 2.

Success in running events: Summits(2022,2023), Haskell Hackerthon, CIP-1694, Onboarding

  • We are actually using our own finances and resources to build and grow our Cardano communities because we believe Cardano has the best future in crypto communities.

There are other IT technical areas we will out source from experienced and qualified Cardano developers(IOG, EMURGO, Gimbalabs, etc)

<https://tobb.co.za/>

<https://abltech.com.au/>

<https://wims.io/>

Please provide a cost breakdown of the proposed work and resources.

Cardano Property Solution dApp Prototype. The plan is to have 3 developers.

A: Junior Developer rate 1400 ADA x2 = 2800/month x6(month)

B: 2 x Senior rate 100 ADA/hour

Below are estimate hours based on past experience:

  1. Cardano Blockchain Integration 150hrs x @100ADA/hr = 15000 ADA
  2. Backend API and RDMS 100hrs x @100ADA/hr = 10000 ADA
  3. Server Side Scripting 90hrs x @100ADA/hr = 9000 ADA
  4. Front End 130hrs x @100ADA/hr = 13000 ADA
  5. Testing(technical and user) = 8400 ADA
  6. Piloting the dApp = 8400 ADA
  7. Marketing the dApp = 7600 ADA

Total (15000+10000+9000+13000 + 8400 + 7600) = 63000 ADA

How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?

This project aims to establish Cardano as a leading provider of government/municipality/business IT solutions (web3). Its implementation will enhance adoption, foster stronger relationships with existing tertiary institutions, attract a greater number of IT developer graduates to join Cardano, and position Cardano's IT solutions in a favorable position for government/municipal contracts.

The request amount is for producing, testing, marketing and piloting a DApp in order to move Cardano technologies to solve real live problems. The requested amount 63000 ADA would be a salary for one developer in normal cases. In this case, it is spread amoung 3 and hopes to also get more developers to Cardano.

Many dApps get developed and shelved because their use cases are of imaginery demand. Tobb Technologies is already working with local governments on credit control solutions such a DApp will even enhance getting government tenders on property systems and also credity control systems.
