Solution

We will create working groups in two cities with high crypto adoption in Mexico to educate and engage the community in Cardano governance.

Problem

The challenge is the low awareness and participation in the governance of Cardano.

Our plan? Empower the community by creating working groups in key crypto-hub cities, encouraging participation!

Cardano Mexico: Governance working groups

Please describe your proposed solution

We are going to organize 2 working groups in 2 of the cities with more crypto adoption in Mexico, each one will have a series of 3 events:

1.- Introduction to Cardano

2.- Decentralized Governance: CIP-1694

3.- Delegated Representative (DRep)

We will focus on cities with high crypto adoption (Mexico City and Puebla City) in order to generate a greater impact by interacting with people who are already interested in blockchain technology.

These back-to-back events in each city will allow for a deep and gradual understanding of Cardano's principles and features, which will increase community participation and interest.

We will cover topics such as decentralized governance and the role of Delegated Representatives (DRep) providing participants with insight into the current state of the Cardano network and how they can participate in it.

Each of these events will be attended by at least 50 people, people from the Cardano Mexico community, web 3 community and newcomers.

They will benefit from gaining a better understanding of Cardano and how they can get involved in its ecosystem.

By increasing understanding and participation in Cardano in these key cities, the network benefits from increased adoption and contribution to its development and governance.

Please define the positive impact your project will have on the wider Cardano community

Our project will have a significant impact on the ecosystem by increasing the adoption and use of Cardano in Latin America.

To measure the success and impact of the proposal, we want to reach the following metrics:

100 new Cardano wallets

100 users participating in Cardano governance.

2 Top cities in Mexico involved in governance

Once the people have participated in the 3 workshops we will follow up with them through the telegram community group and social networks in order to onboard them to the Cardano ecosystem and the use of dapps, DeFi and governance.

The goal is also to familiarize the Web 3 communities with the Cardano blockchain and governance to create their own working groups.

What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability? How do you intend to validate if your approach is feasible?

Cristian Jair Rojas

I'm originally from Mexico, I'm in Cardano for a little more than two years, I got funding in project catalyst fund7 with the proposal called "Support small farmers in Latam".

I was able to successfully delivered and completet the proposal, also in project catalysat I have participated as a reviewer in fund 8, 9, 10 and in the last fund as a level 1 reviewer with a total of 80 proposals reviewed last fund.

As a member of the Latam Cardano Community, I have participated in educational content with Universities in Mexico.

I participated in organizing two CIP-1694 workshops in Mexico, in the Pan-latam workshop in Uruguay and participating in the final workshop in Edinburgh.

I have organized the DReps community workshop in Mexico City.

2 proposals funded in fund 10, which demonstrates the trust that the cardano community has placed in me. Food Traceabilty by Cardano & Onboarding gamers to Cardano

I am from Tlaxcala, Mexico, and have been involved with Cardano for the past year.

I have worked on the Catalyst project as a reviewer in Fund 10 and more recently as a level 1 reviewer, fulfilling all my responsibilities in an objective manner.

I have helped organize Workshops on CIP-1694 at the Polytechnic University of Tlaxcala.

I was a representative of the Cardano Latam Community at the "Cardano Days" in Guadalajara, Mexico.

I have also collaborated in the organization of the CIP-1694 workshop in Mexico and the Pan-Latam workshop in Uruguay.

I am co-author of the Latin American regional conclusions document, which is available at this link: <https://github.com/latamcardano/CIP1694Workshops>

How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?

Our project aims to increase Cardano adoption in Latin America, specifically in Mexico, with a total cost of ₳99,440. We'll organize 6 workshops in Mexico City and Puebla, focusing on topics like Cardano introduction, decentralized governance, and Delegated Representatives (DReps). The goal is to educate 100 new users, increase governance participation, and foster local working groups.

The costs are justified: travel, accommodation, and food expenses are reasonable and proportional. We also include marketing materials, speaker fees, and participant rewards. This project provides solid value for Cardano by driving adoption and governance participation, contributing to network growth and decentralization in the region.
