Solution

Hold monthly meetups (50 total) in 5 Cities in Venezuela, to draw Cardano enthusiasts and Cardano curious people together, and encourage collaboration and innovation on local projects

Problem

Cardano-specific educational materials without much complexity are limited. For this reason we want to establish Cardano communities in the main Venezuelan cities with regular meetings.

Cardano Meetups in Venezuela

Please describe your proposed solution

We plan to hold monthly events (50 total) in different locations in Venezuela, promote the events locally and on social media, and maintaining an active social media presence by posting pictures from each event on social media as well.

The meetups will include educational presentations, networking, food, airdrops and fun times!

Initially the meetups should be of size 30+, but we aim to grow and break our own attendance records over time

Please define the positive impact your project will have on the wider Cardano community

  • Provide a meeting place for local Cardano enthusiasts
  • Provide community space
  • Educate locals on Cardano
  • Compete toe to toe with meetups organized by other cryptos
  • Increase Cardano usage and adoption
  • Create good associates with Cardano for local attendees
  • Cardano project creators can meet their cofounders

What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability? How do you intend to validate if your approach is feasible?

We have already hosted 2 meetups, proven that successful events can be done on a budget (~$300). The events were very well prepared and well received

We would like to continue supporting the Cardano community but require funds to do so!

What are the key milestones you need to achieve in order to complete your project successfully?

including

Milestone 5: Hold 40 Total Meetups

Final Milestone: Hold 50 total meetups

Hold at least one large meetup that breaks surpasses 400 people in one meetup Cardano meetup!

Who is in the project team and what are their roles?

Yunerbis Hernandez - Main Organizer, presenter

Mila Romero - Social Media, Online meetup manager

Antoine De Vuyst - Experienced Cardano meetup organizer from Toronto, initial meetup funder.

Please provide a cost breakdown of the proposed work and resources

We are budgeting $300 per meetup. most meetups should be 30-80 people in size.

Example Budget Breakdown of last meetup -

  • VeWork conference room: $150
  • Food delivery: $70
  • Cardano stickers: $12
  • ADA giveaway for the attendees: 10 ADA
  • Mobile data so Yunerbis could stay in contact and work with us during the organization: $10
  • Total: $250

Larger meetups may cost more. Additionally we would like to compensate meetup organizers for their hard work.

In certain cases where we can book venues for free, we can save even more!

No Dependencies

How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?

Funds go a long way for meetups in Venezuela. With $250 we were able to print leaflets, book a venue, provide food for everyone, provide small amounts of ADA as prizes and incentives, and get AV equipment for educational presentations.

We plan to be very judicious with funds and get the most out of them. Whenever possible, we will use free venues and save even more money. In that case the cost could be as low as $100 per meetup.

The money saved on venue costs we can use for hosting even larger meetups.

In most places, it would cost a lot more!
