Please describe your proposed solution
Overview: Produce high-quality video breakdowns of new Cardano updates, protocols, short-form cut-ups of Charles Hoskinson Content, all to be posted on Jason Borck’s channel (with open IP for free use) and the Jellycubes X account. Catalyst funding will also cover costs for attending Cardano conventions and events, where we will film short-form content featuring projects building in the ecosystem & long form experience overviews.
Problem: Although Cardano consistently delivers great updates, many people remain unaware of them. Additionally, Cardano events often lack proper video coverage, and there is a noticeable gap in high-quality breakdown content on YouTube and X, especially when compared to other ecosystems that have dedicated media teams. There is also a huge lack of Short-Form recaps of Charles Hoskinson's content (derived from his lives, interviews, and youtube channel) that could be benefitted from being cut up to short-form digestible content.
Solution: We will allocate part of the Catalyst funding to cover travel expenses for attending events and hire at least 1 high-quality videographers to produce event content. Additionally, we will create engaging video content focused on new developments in the Cardano ecosystem to attract new users and keep the community informed including cutting up short-form clip highlights from Charles Hoskinson.
This content will be a valuable resource for projects to market themselves, increasing exposure across the Cardano ecosystem and covering in-person key events that highlight the community and its developments. All videos will be open IP for anyone to use and will also be posted on our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@jasonborck
Outcome: By increasing video coverage at events and providing regular content on YouTube (including Charles short form), we will help onboard new users and educate the community about ongoing developments and projects within Cardano.
Why Catalyst: Covering videographer costs and travel expenses for these events is expensive, and since Cardano has fewer users, viewers, and sponsors compared to other ecosystems, ad revenue does not cover these costs. Catalyst funding will allow us to prioritize attending these events and creating the content needed to drive awareness.
