Cardano Developers Community in Kolkata, India

Please describe your proposed solution.

Background:

Being part of the Cardano community for the last two years and worked on a project to train senior developers in India on Plutus and Haskell, I realize there is bigger need to build awareness at larger community level and build community of developers for Cardano Ecosystem.

There is a serious shortage of qualified senior development on Cardano impacting plans to deliver various solutions to world problems envisaged by community builders and thinkers.

The Indian IT industry employs 2 million plus software developers, only less than 0.5% of developers possess the necessary blockchain development skills.

Solution:

Indian skilled and experienced developers pool could be a solution to fill the gap of the developer requirement for Cardano. These developers are engaged in developing complex applications using other technologies in web 2.0 and they have the ability to quickly grasp and be ready developers for Cardano blockchain.

Process:

  1. Marketing and Selection: We shall run awareness campaigns on social media and in private groups and invite interested developers to join the community.
  2. Awareness Sessions: We shall run once in a month awareness webinar or offline meetups to bring awareness about Cardano ecosystem.
  3. Development Support: Interested participant will be provided guidance on various tools and solution for learning and development available.
  4. Industry Connect: Once every two months an online webinar will be conducted with global perspective with potential project sponsors and developers community so there is direct interaction.

In 6 months, we shall build 100+ developers’ community which is engaged in learning or developing on Cardano Ecosystem. This approach can help to quickly fill the shortage of developers on Cardano.

How does your proposed solution address the challenge and what benefits will this bring to the Cardano ecosystem?

The Campaign Brief states:

Without the supportive environment for developers, new innovations would be stalled. By supporting this challenge settings, more developers would be drawn into Cardano. There would be a bigger talent pool of developers that Catalyst projects can collaborate with and turn project concepts/Proof of concept into successful protocols which would enhance the growth of Cardano.

Guiding questions

How do we attract developers from outside of our current community to participate in Catalyst?

What do developers want, and how do they get it from the Cardano dev ecosystem?

What would make it a developer motivated to grind through the docs and code no matter how hard it is to create an app?

What are enterprise dev managers looking for in order to be able to build out enterprise projects - either internal or commercial?

This proposal is fully aligned with the challenge setting and guiding questions in a very direct way. Making available more trained developers on Cardano by attracting existing web 2.0 developers in India and supporting them on their journey to be part of Cardano developers Eco Systems.

We already have a module designed for any new developers to start learning and developing on Cardano platform.

How do you intend to measure the success of your project?

Number of online and offline meet-ups and awareness session of developers

Number of attendees in each session

Total Number of developers as member of the community

Number of industry connect and sessions organized with developers community

Please describe your plans to share the outputs and results of your project?

We shall share online meetings recordings on India Developers Community website as well on linkedin.

We shall share monthly progress reports online on our website.

Every Month we shall run marketing campaign to attract developers to Cardano ecosystem and effetiveness of campaigns will be shared as a report.

We shall share for each online or offline meeting status in below format

Date of meeting

Format of meeting

What are the main goals for the project and how will you validate if your approach is feasible?

Main goal is more and more developers are trained and working on Cardano Developers ecosystem. to meet this goal developers in initally stage of learning and working on Cardano Ecosystem must be support and guided by experienced and knowlegable persons.

As we have both the proposed, Udai and Narendra, have done their plustus pioneer programm and have vast programming experience, this objective can be met.

Please provide a detailed breakdown of your project’s milestones and each of the main tasks or activities to reach the milestone plus the expected timeline for the delivery.

Milestone 1 –>> Month 1

Setting up team and require Marketing Materials

Milestone 2 –>>Month 2 to Month 12

We shall add minimum 5 new developers each month. and Target 60 to 100 developers community in Kolkata within 12 months of this project.

Please describe the deliverables, outputs and intended outcomes of each milestone.

Each Milestone is pretty much each month and we shall be able to add average 5-10 new developers in community every month and continuation of supporting existign enrolled developers .

Industry connect events shall results in mutual development enagement activities.

Please provide a detailed budget breakdown of the proposed work and resources.

Industry Connect Organization effort= 8 hours/event X150 ADA = 1,200 ADA X 6 Events=7,200 ADA

Event Organizing Cost =12 x 2,200 ADA = 26,400

Total: 98,400 ADA

that is average 8,200 ADA per month
