Cardano Cube - Easy Onboarding (Getting started on Cardano)

Please describe your proposed solution

We propose the development of a user-friendly onboarding feature within Cardano Cube, aimed at simplifying the process of getting started in Cardano.

Key features of the platform include:

Easy wallet creation on Sign-up: We will optimize the way for users to set up their first wallet. We will look into options to automatically create a wallet for a user when they sign up on Cardano Cube with their email or when they connect via social accounts, eliminating the need for complex cryptographic processes. We will look into collaborations with wallets to get an optimized user flow.

Fiat-to-ADA Ramp: We will incorporate an option for users to seamlessly purchase their first ADA directly within this onboarding flow, further reducing barriers to entry for mainstream users. For this we’re exploring a multitude of on-ramps, integrating the one with the least UX friction.

Streamlined Onboarding Flow: The onboarding flow will be designed with simplicity in mind, guiding users through the process of setting up their wallets with clear instructions and minimal technical jargon.

External Partner Integrations: As an Ecosystem aggregator, we want to support Cardano Builders by providing interesting projects (if applicable at a discounted price) to our user base. An example would be ‘ADA Handle’, directly offering handles to our new users.

Please define the positive impact your project will have on the wider Cardano community

Increased Adoption: We reach a large amount of visitors via Search Engine Optimisation. By simplifying the onboarding process, we anticipate a significant increase in the number of users joining the Cardano ecosystem.

Improved User Engagement: By providing direct wallet creation on sign-up, we expect users to have an easy entrance point into Cardano Native Assets. With the wallet set up and an easy fiat onramp, our visitors can directly explore projects and swap their tokens via our DexHunter integration.

Impact Measurement

The impact will be measured based on analytics. We’ll continuously keep track of new sign-ups and where they end up in the funnel on acquisition. Based on this we’ll improve our onboarding flow. We’re planning on having direct communication with our community via Discord to get feedback and improve where necessary.

What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability? How do you intend to validate if your approach is feasible?

Cardano Cube has been a prominent figure within the Cardano ecosystem for three years, serving as a centralized hub for projects, news, and updates within the Cardano blockchain. We have a proven track record of staying in the space and reaching a large number of new Cardano members.

Our team is made of experienced professionals in design, coding, and content creation. We have worked with some of the biggest projects on Cardano such as NMKR & Axo, and have collaborated with GeroWallet, Newm, Ore Ore Ore, Book.io, and many more, developing strong connections with both the community and developers within the Cardano ecosystem.

We are the right team to accomplish the task of bringing Cardano to the forefront of the crypto and blockchain industry. We are not just an online platform, we are forging connections, driving innovation, and trying to propel the Cardano ecosystem forward.

What are the key milestones you need to achieve in order to complete your project successfully?

Milestone 1: Design of User Interface and User Experience of the onboarding flow. This includes the full design flow of the onboarding, including wallet creation, selected fiat on-ramp, partner integrations, and other edge cases.

Acceptance criteria: Design flow will be accessible via Figma URL. This can be clicked through and validated and contains the full user flow.

Evidence: The design flow will be accessible via a Figma URL.

Milestone 2: Development of the first part of the onboarding flow. This includes automatic wallet creation on sign-up.

Acceptance criteria: Development results should match the design provided in milestone 1.

Evidence: A Staging environment will be delivered with a URL.

Milestone 3: Development of the second part of the onboarding flow. This includes automatic fiat on-ramp and partner integrations.

Acceptance criteria: Development results should match the design provided in milestone 1.

Evidence: A staging environment will be delivered with a URL.

Final Milestone: The final deliverable of the Onboarding flow. This contains a full representation of the designs provided in Milestone 1. The onboarding flow is also validated and QA testing is done on the feature. Both Desktop and mobile are being validated.

Acceptance criteria: Development results should match the design provided proposal.

Evidence: The Staging environment will be delivered with a URL. After completion of the development, the feature will be introduced to our public website.

Please provide a cost breakdown of the proposed work and resources

Total funds requested

In total, we are requesting 93,800 USD which covers the full development, design and quality assurance. Besides that, it will cover all the costs to have an activate marketing promotion for 6 months, which gives us a runway to really amp up the adoption of Cardano in general.

---

Design & Development

Funding will be allocated towards the development of the onboarding platform, including user interface design, backend development, and security measures.

Back-end / Front-end: 480 hours (3 months full-time, 1 developer) = 100 USD/h

Design: 80 hours (2 weeks full-time, 1 designer) = 85 USD/h

Development = $48,000

Design = $6,800

A total of 54,800 USD

---

Quality Assurance & Testing

In each phase of our development, we will validate the user flow and security by testing and quality assurance. This work will be done by design (front-end) and development (back-end/security).

Our estimates are to invest 2,000 USD per milestone on testing and quality assurance, bringing us to a total of 2,000 x 4 = 8,000 USD.

Total of 8,000 USD

---

Project Management & Business Expenses

We estimate that we will need 16k USD to compensate for project management, coordinating milestones with Project Catalyst, and contacting partners within the Cardano Community. This also includes infrastructure costs and pricing for tooling needed to make this onboarding feature a success.

Business costs are calculated based on the business team working 2 hours per day for the duration of the project (4 months) for 50 USD per hour.

Total of 16,000 USD

---

Marketing & Community Engagement

Funds will be earmarked for marketing efforts to promote the new onboarding platform and attract mainstream users to Cardano Cube.

We plan on collaborating with popular content creators in the space to get the onboarding promoted. These content creators will be actively promoting on X and YouTube. We will have 1 active marketing specialist working for 8 hours per week for 6 months for 50 dollars per hour.

8 hours * 26 weeks * 50ph = 10,400 USD

Content Creator Collaboration = 4,600 USD

Total of 15,000 USD

No dependencies. However, we will be actively reaching out to interesting projects that could be provided to our users within the onboarding flow.

How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?

In total, we are requesting 93,800 USD which covers the full development, design and quality assurance. Besides that, it will cover all the costs to have an active marketing promotion for 6 months.

On top of that, we hire content creators within the Cardano Community which will directly onboard more users to Cardano. The hourly rates are based on the average European salaries.
