Building the perfect DAO

Please describe your proposed solution.

The aim is to understand what the perfect DAO would be, by getting feedback from leaders in the field. The results will then be analyzed and published for the rest of the community to better guide Cardano's future DAO projects.

Loic Bompar founded the first Web3 e-sport team, and it's a success. Team governance is via a DAO, where NFT holders can make decisions and participate in team strategy.

After benchmarking different blockchains, he and his team chose not to build their DAO on cardano.

1_ By working and interacting with him and his team, the goal is to:

 • brainstorm on the perfect DAO solution, what does it need, what are the issues DAO can meet, how to fix them
 • understand why Cardano didn't meet his needs.
 • find out what should be done at Cardano to address the problems he encountered during the development of his project in order to create a Cardano DAO infrastructure that leads the market.

His team is made up of engineers and other Web3 entrepreneurs who can bring a lot to the discussion.

2_ Following our exchange and our work, the aim is to produce a summary report with Benjamin that will be first shared with the whole community to enlighten the future Catalyst project about DAO.

3_Moreover, with these development axes, my aim will then be to be able to discuss with the rest of the cardano community and propose ideas in Catalyst (in collaboration with Gymbalabs also) that will respond to the issues identified.

How does your proposed solution address the challenge and what benefits will this bring to the Cardano ecosystem?

1_Comprehensive Understanding of DAOs:

By partnering with Loic Bompar and his team, who have successfully implemented a DAO for their Web3 e-sport team, you'll gain a deep understanding of the issues and challenges associated with DAOs. This interaction and brainstorming can inform and improve the Cardano network's capacity to support DAOs, potentially addressing gaps that might have caused Bompar's team to choose another blockchain for their project.

2_ Learning from Expertise:

The collaborative nature of your approach enables you to draw on the combined knowledge and experience of engineers and Web3 entrepreneurs, which could help to optimize the functionality and effectiveness of DAOs built on the Cardano network.

3_ Community-Oriented:

The production of a comprehensive summary report ensures that all insights and potential solutions will be shared with the broader Cardano community. This inclusive, transparent approach not only benefits existing Cardano users and developers, but it can also attract new users and contributors to the platform. Also working with Gymbalabs, which already has an established relationship with the Cardano ecosystem, can bring additional technical insights, ensuring the proposed solutions are both innovative and feasible

4_Catalyst for Future Projects:

The knowledge gained from this project will enable the Cardano community to more effectively propose and implement DAO-related projects in the future. In essence, your solution doesn't just address immediate DAO implementation issues, but also sets the stage for a more DAO-friendly Cardano ecosystem going forward.

How do you intend to measure the success of your project?

1_Quality of the Report: This could be assessed based on feedback received from the Cardano community. It might involve metrics such as

 • comprehension
 • relevance
 • applicability of the proposed solutions in the report.

2_Community Engagement: This can be measured by tracking engagement on forums, social media, and other platforms where your report and discussions about your findings are posted. Metrics may include likes, shares, comments, and the quality of debates stimulated by the work.

3_Catalyst Proposals: Number of new proposals on Catalyst that address the issues identified and solutions proposed in your report. The goal is to create or have an impact on next DAO ideas for the next fund

Please describe your plans to share the outputs and results of your project?

We aim to disseminate the outcomes and progress of our workshops and interactive experiences to this community. We also intend to elucidate and chronicle their involvement in upcoming funding opportunities.

Our approach to demonstrating the success of our educational mission will encompass sharing plans, draft proposals, instances of collaborative work, and project results.

What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability?

We are 2 dedicated people to this project. We have a good experience in the blockchain world. Moreover, Benjamin already has an informational Youtube channel explaining Catalyst and participated on the Fund9, he already has been fund 3 projets.

We already had contact with the co-founder of Heroez Loïc and he has already accepted to meet and work with us and his teams, so everything is ready to start if we are funded.

For accountability, it will be easy to deliver accurate information, as the data will be directly accessible. The summary report will be available as soon as the workshop is done

What are the main goals for the project and how will you validate if your approach is feasible?

The objectives are

 • to find the best solutions and the recipe for a successful DAO
 • publish a concise and comprehensive report
 • enlight the next proposers that will work on DAO for Cardano

We think the approached is feasable because Heroez thrive to participate to the project and we will have time and resources to make a great analysis.

Please provide a detailed breakdown of your project’s milestones and each of the main tasks or activities to reach the milestone plus the expected timeline for the delivery.

1_Preparation of the meeting: october

 • finding a date and a location that fits for everyone
 • preparation of the meeting and workshop with a specialist: Florian Freyssinet

Here is a link to know more about him:

https://www.linkedin.com/in/florian-freyssenet-a902a684/

2_Animation of the interview and workshop: november

 • interview of Loic Bompar and his team
 • Workshop about how to build a perfect DAO: the workshop will have one or twoof these activities:
 1. Breakout Sessions: Divide the participants and experts into small groups, each focused on a specific topic or problem related to DAOs on Cardano. These could include governance, scalability, security, user experience, etc. After the breakout sessions, each group can present their findings and proposed solutions to everyone.
 2. Brain writing: This is a twist on traditional brainstorming. Each expert writes down their ideas on a piece of paper or a digital platform, then passes it on to the next expert who adds their thoughts or builds upon the previous ideas. This method ensures that everyone's voices are heard and can lead to innovative solutions.
 3. Reverse Brainstorming: This creative problem-solving technique involves asking the participants to think about how they could cause the problem they are trying to solve. This helps participants view the problem from a new perspective and can lead to innovative solutions.

3_Analysis et writing of the report: december-january

 • Collecting the feedback of the team
 • Analyzing and summarizing the content of the meeting
 • Publishing of the report

Please describe the deliverables, outputs and intended outcomes of each milestone.

Every written piece of work will be publish in order to meet the community follow every step of the project and to understand how did we work and thought about the issue. It includes the final report, but also the feedback of the team and how went the preparation of it:

Please provide a detailed budget breakdown of the proposed work and resources.

1_Preparation of the meeting: 20 hours x 120 ADA = 2400 ADA
