Auditability through film and media

--

There are many YouTube channels offering increased visibility on projects seeking funding through Project Catalyst, however there is not yet a good go-to source to follow projects that have already been funded.

What we started with Wada Media Funnel for Proposers* was exactly this. With this next round we seek to upscale this endeavor in such a way that we proide the community with a template, and a platform to be able to follow funded projects to completion and beyond.

*Previous Fund Proposal here: <https://cardano.ideascale.com/a/dtd/WADA-Media-Funnel-for-Proposers/352499-48088>

The main deliverable for this project will be a template for funded proposers to report on their projects in a way that offers easily accessible visibility on project development. We will put heavy emphasis on the visual component such as short videos or photo montages as much as possible.

--

We will be improving audibility of proposals by making follow up information more easily accessible as well as visual whenever possible so an added component of visibility to the community. This will add a real human component to these proposals. With so much of the collaboration that happens over Catalyst most of it is virtual. We each have very little visibility over each others projects physically which makes this visual component so valuable.

--

The main challenge we foresee is making this initiative self sustainable. Eventually we will be funding this ourselves through Wada's long term sustainability model, as well as possible YouTube /community based funding, but as we are still fine tuning our membership schemes and long - term sustainability model we are requesting funding for this next phase through Project Catalyst.

Past success:

Wada was already funded to start this journey with proposers in previous funding round. We will be launching our podcast/YouTube series following the proposal 9 journeys. We wanted to launch this in a big and meaningful way. This proposal round has shown another big boost in Wada's success in terms of onboarding more users into project Catalyst, and we thought it would be a good point to start our channel with these fresh ideas. By the time we are looking at this proposal actually being funded we will have tried a few different templates and have refined the best or series of best practices in terms of getting the message across to the community. We will be starting by interviewing each of our proposers, or submitting presentations by them, providing visibility to voters on the numerous projects in the Wada network.

Roadmap:

Previous Phase - Launch YouTube channel, uploading regular content

Current Phase - We need to organize the information, thinking about setting up for the next phase (see below) and creating templates for videos, reporting, as well as offering a channel for community feedback and personal follow-up. We want to make it so that proposals are easily searched, and content that may be dispersed can be linked together to provide better access to the information that is already out there.

Next Phase - The work will be doing here is setting up a template for an oracle service providing auditability to the Cardano community. Here we will seek to link both video content to documentation making a real one-stop shop for all proposal follow-up.

Below are the key element to audit this proposal:

  • Monthly uploaded content surrounding Wada and our partner's many projects that were either funded already or are in the making
  • Monthly podcast conversations
  • Increased activity on Wada YouTube channel
  • Connecting Cardano community more deeply to Wada projects on the ground level starting in Cameroon
  • Attracting even more proposers to project Catalyst each funding round (with added visibility and follow up on these projects)

3 Months: Continued YouTube content to support proposal journey - updated regularly

6 Months: Template for proposers (monthly or quarterly video reporting template per project) content. We will be able to commit to content uploaded weekly due to number of projects

12 Months: Regular story-telling and video components around Project Catalyst and proposals, showcasing the positive impact that Project Catalyst provides at a local community level. And making content targeting all backgrounds and telling a story that people from outside of even the crypto space can understand.

Success to us will mean the following actions are being completed.

  • Monthly uploaded content surrounding Wada and our partner's many projects that were either funded already or are in the making
  • Monthly podcast conversations
  • Increased activity on Wada YouTube channel
  • Connecting Cardano community more deeply to Wada's projects on the ground level starting in Cameroon
  • Attracting even more proposers to project Catalyst each funding round (with added visibility and follow up on these projects)
