Sending and receiving payment in crypto currencies is sometimes a hassle and, for many, an entry barrier into the crypto world. Small transactions are almost a standard to check that the receiving address is correct and things are working as expected - which is obviously not ideal since, in practice, this doubles the fee the sender is paying for a single transaction.

To solve this problem, we proposed adatar.me, a funded proposal from Catalyst Fund 6 (back then called ‘Gravatar for ADA Wallets’). We have launched in mainnet in February 2022, and you can check a live demo during our presentation in Gimbalab’s playground here:

The current proposal’s objective is to extend adatar.me to EGLD, since it also faces the same problem as we are solving for Cardano with our previous proposal.

With this proposal, we are addressing the following goals mentioned in the challenge brief:

• Expansion of Cardano-based projects into other chains
• Catalyst-created solutions adopted by other chains and communities

Also, we are aligned with the following Challenge KPI:

• Catalyst-created solutions adopted by other chains/communities

This is a low-risk project - since the front-end is already developed and our solution does not require any on-chain coding (as is per today), we can offer the same solution we are currently offering for Cardano, for EGLD as well. All we need to do is connect with the front-end of a wallet on that blockchain.

In this Fund, we are proposing a few proposals similar to this one, to extend adatar.me to some other blockchains. Since we are not sure which proposals are going to be funded, we need to add some flexibility to the roadmap. For this reason, we will set as deadline to the delivery of this proposal, the end of Q4 2022.

• Launch adatar.me extension to EGLD in testnet at the beginning of Q4 2022.
• Launch adatar.me extension to EGLD in mainnet at the end of Q4 2022.

The integration of adatar.me to EGLD will take 1 full month for one software engineer, or 2 software engineers part-time. A full time software engineer gets paid $8000/month. Therefore, the total budget of this proposal is $8000.

Originally called Gravatar for ADA Wallet, we’ve renamed the project to adatar.me. It was launched in mainnet in February 2022, and we are currently working to improve the design and UX of the website, at the same time that we are building an API to connect it to other dApps.
