MLabs Proposals (5)
MLabs DTF (Dao-Traded-Fund)
Solution: MLabs DTF - ETFs create pools of assets that help to mitigate some of the risks associated with cryptocurrency investing.
MLabs DDAO
Solution: MLabs will implement a governance protocol that is configurable and modular. Our protocol can be deployed to create a DAO for communities.
Plutus-extra: Plutus helper library
Solution: Plutus/PAB utility functions & data structures for Plutus scripts; Open source (Apache 2.0) & in use on mainnet by projects like SundaeSwap.
Plutarch: typed eDSL in Haskell
Solution: Typed eDSL in Haskell for writing significantly more efficient Plutus Core validators compared to the PlutusTx smart contract execution cost
Agora: Plutus governance module
Solution: We are building Agora; a simple and composable Plutus on-chain governance lego to unlock B2DAO economic models and open source DAO tooling.

Over the last month, MLabs completed the work outlined in our DoubleDAO proposal. We submitted our close-out report including a frontend demo.
Finally, we will continue to work alongside the Clarity team to bring Clarity to mainnet.
Over the last month, the main focus on the Business Development side was our DAO Pitch Competition. Here, Clarity, alongside expert panelists, heard pitches from 16 DAOs building in the ecosystem. The competition took place over two sessions and the results will be announced soon.
Along these lines, we also hosted a pitching workshop. Understandably, the Clarity community was focused on pitches over the last month, so developing this crucial skill together makes a lot of sense. The pitch workshop can be viewed here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZHrmJYAMyk
On the technical side, we made improvements to our documentation set and updated and reviewed our specs. This was accompanied by refactoring a portion of our codebase dealing with on-chain and off-chain storage while fixing some minor UI and browser-side issues in the meantime.
That said, the Clarity dev team also continued building a fluid and effective governance system. Specifically, this included work on the voting rewards validator and Agora integration. With Agora, some interfacing issues with CTL occupied a portion of our attention. Another core dev was onboarded, and CTL/Webpack issues were addressed.
Over the last month, MLabs completed the work outlined in our DAO Traded Funds proposal. We submitted our close-out report including a live testnet demo. We are happy to present it or discuss our closeout at a future Townhall meeting.
Finally, we will continue to work alongside the Metera team to bring the ESG index funds project to mainnet.
October was a busy month for the Clarity/DoubleDAO project, especially on the Business Development side. We met with major Cardano projects at RareBloom, cNFTcon, and the Web 3 Expo. We participated in panel discussions and the like, networking constantly, and The Clarity Twitter handle (@clarity_dao) showcases these efforts nicely. A platform aimed at promoting and facilitating DAO adoption, this type of work is vital to the recognition of our project and, ultimately, making the Cardano ecosystem more decentralized.
Perhaps more importantly, Clarity also kicked off our DAO pitch competition and saw greater-than-expected interest and proposal submissions – 22 DAOs building on Cardano are aiming to qualify for the competition. Although this initiative was not funded in Fund9, we decided to push forward regardless because it stands to underpin an ecosystem of robust DAOs. Submissions closed Oct 18th, and we are anticipating the results.
On the development side, upbeat progress continued. We updated CTL to v2, ushering in Babbage support while updating our offchain code. Developers added support for querying a user's wallets for Governance tokens - an important feature - and worked to simplify the deployment of reference scripts.
Simultaneously, we worked through several front-end features to improve the user experience. Users can now manage how their favorite DAOs are displayed, more easily explore DAOs, and interact with and create governance proposals. A significant step, we also finalized the flow of DAO creations. This straightforward process allows users to easily create new DAOs by filling out a multi-step online form.
Our efforts focused on Business Development needs throughout October. MLabs and Metera team members met at RareBloom, and both used the opportunity effectively for networking.
Unfortunately, the Metera/DAO-Traded-Funds effort did not receive funding in Catalyst Fund9. This is disappointing because further technical development is largely paused until funding is resolved.
That said, the technical deliverables outlined in the DAO-Traded-Funds Fund7 grant have been delivered far ahead of schedule. This is largely due to MLabs ability to frontload expenses and the commitment and drive of the Metera team. As such, over the coming weeks we intend to submit our closeout report while continuing to source funding to further our project.
On a high level, the Metera Business Development team focused on promoting their Fund9 proposal. Efforts included Twitter campaigns/Spaces and other collaborative meetings.
We previously shared our v0.1 video demo and POC. Work began on a local testnet deployment using Plutip with the eventual aim of deploying to the public testnet. This is to demonstrate to users/voters that the on-chain portion of the project is functioning. Finally, v0.2 was scoped and a development roadmap was established between MLabs and the Metera Business development team.
The Clarity team continued its weekly Town Hall breakout rooms in support of its Fund9 proposals and the project overall. Several collaborations and partnerships are underway, with some announced over the last month (e.g., Genius Yield, see @clarity_dao on Twitter for details).
On the development side, work on the governance protocol (e.g., proposal advancement) continued. Engineers initially faced complications minimizing UTXO script size as well as incorporating government authority tokens (GATs, see Liqwid-labs/agora on GH) throughout the relevant modules and processes. Devs will likely rely on reference scripts to sidestep the limitations and issues encountered. Work also began integrating the CTL, a Fund8-funded proposal (https://bit.ly/3qO07S8). Currently, CTL v2 is supported (including Babbage features).
Finally, high-level progress was also made. UX/UI was improved and the team accomplished more thorough MVP planning and scoping. Further detail on development updates can be found in the Clarity Community Discord (http://bit.ly/38DT1cU).
Still working away - we are probably merging with another project
