Our Fall 2022 / December focus (no funding was requested for October & November):
-
Conducting literature review in cooperating with University of Malta. Collecting reference material in ZOTERO. A key challenge is the lack of clear terminology and definitions.
-
Legal research from the EU-perspective. Looking at DLT/Blockchain regulation as well as at the impact of IPR and of the new EU-DMA (Digital Markets Act) on Metaverse concepts.
-
Checkup of existing Digital Transformation Tech-Stacks in industry (based on traditional WEB2.0 and SaaS approaches) and EA (Enterprise Architecture) solutions. This is important for finding out, which interoperability WEB3.0-based Metaverse solutions need to observe in order to be usable under given context in business and industry.
Next steps:
-
Checking and clustering the most important Metaverse-based business opportunities for outlining, which ecosystems will most likely emerge. This is another indicator for understanding, what degree of interoperability will be required.
-
Completing the Metaverse segment and the Interoperability segment in the TECH section of the DLT360 NAVIGATOR by implementing our findings into our GitHub content repository and our OBSIDIAN environment (internal working environment also on MIRO).
-
Summarising the findings in a related Whitepaper or working paper, which also contains recommendations regarding how to approach Metaverse concepts for the main application clusters in business and industry (including the major opportunities and risks), with a main focus of interoperability-criteria and interoperability-solutions.
-
Closeout report and video
Our focus in December:
-
Part of our weekly working-group sessions under the business-related guidance of Thorsten Pottebaum and Heinz Gassner. The discussions are documented in MIRO and the results are kept in our GitHub repository and in OBSIDIAN as well as on DROPBOX (until we find better solutions).
-
Focus on the Primary Industry Segment within the Economy/Business/Industry Segment of the DLT360 NAVIGATOR.
-
We performed a first round of research and established a basic primer in cooperation with Bank of Brazil. This brought quite some learnings, making us to split this into 2 branches: 1) Smaller scale organic farming and 2) Agricultural Industry
-
Check for similarities and differences to other global regions
-
Check how this will fit with our planned DLT360 Innovation Accelerator Program, so that the established NAVIGATOR content and Risk & Opportunity Radar Content is best suitable for our future (agriculture dedicated) cohort-programs.
-
Checking, correcting and refining of this Segment of the DLT360 NAVIGATOR.
Open:
- Some more research
- Sumarizing the findings in a dedicated Whitepaper
- Finalising Closing Report and Closing Video
Our Fall 2022 / December focus (no funding was requested for October & November):
-
Basic legal research. Needs to be extended due to the current (rapid) changes of paradigms, risks and opportunities on the Chinese market
-
Defining the scope: We decided to focusing on the needs of global companies and/or organisations, who aim too implement ONE global technology stack based on WEB3.09, DLT/Blockchain also in China.
-
Detailed analysis of current and future Opportunities and Risks . Next steps:
- Summarising the findings in a Report/Whitepaper
- Closing Report and Video
Our Fall 2022 / December focus (no funding was requested for October & November)
-
As reported, we restarted our content-related work by beginning of September (after focusing on our people, process and tools foundation over June to end of August). The biggest change was here, that we established a new tech-stack for capturing and maintaining our content in GitHub and OBSIDIAN - very essential for our ambition to work as a large content-providing network in the future. Working sessions are also supported by MIRO. Furthermore, we decided to use ZOTERO for establishing our references to books, articles and academic papers.
-
Establishing the NAVIGATOR application (the TECH content was used as template for a first MVP version, then the application was expanded to show also our other segments like Law/Regulation, ESG, Politics and Economy/Business). Key feature was the use of Markdown texts in Github and OBSIDIAN, which allow automatic import into our NAVIGATOR WEB-visualization tool. This way, our NAVIGATOR is also multi-language-capable by design.
-
The Technology work stream conducted weekly content-meetings, integrating the TECHNOLOGY segment content into our new DLT360 NAVIGATOR application (MIRO, GitHub Repository / OBSIDIAN / ZOTERO and still some DROPBOX).
-
We are currently refining the content, following a 'T-Shape approach' (first focusing on the basic overview, the big picture, and at the same time work on selected topics where we can provide a real deep-dive. In the future, we will then add more and more deep-dive topics, as they are needed for the DLT360 WEB3.0 Innovation Accelerator program.
-
Quality checking and releasing new content for integration into the DLT360 NAVIGATOR
Open:
- Final refinement and quality check
- Closing Report and Video
Our Fall 2022 / December focus (no funding was requested for October & November):
-
In the legal perspective, this work is building upon the findings of our other fund 7 project (700113 - Examine PoS-Advantages of Cardano).
-
Defining the scope: Focusing on decentralised and small stake pool operators, preferably with bare-metal server installation, respectively sufficiently decentralised datacenter utilisation.
-
Business Opportunity analysis by researching upcoming roles and opportunities, risks, costs and revenue-streams of small stakepool operators.
Next steps:
- Drafting a state-of-the-art Business Model Canvas for outlining all business model details
- Drafting a Marketing/PR concept
- Defining major business process model and (small scale) Enterprise Architecture
- Summarising the findings in a SPO2.0 Whitepaper
Our Fall 2022 / December focus (no funding was requested for October & November):
-
Conducting the basic legal research concerning the relevant legal and financial regulations (working paper completed).
-
Conducting technical research for identifying the major differences and value propositions of CARDANO in the context of staking. Currently working on deeper technical analysis of the different PoS approaches (especially in the context or the ETH Merge, which is making substantial risks visible and allows for establishing differentiating benefits of e.g. the CARDANO approach).
-
Detailed legal summary by combining 1) and 2).
Next steps:
- Concluding the findings in a dedicated working paper (or Whitepaper, to be defined), specifically summarising the argumentation for effective and efficient lobbying.
- This will become integral part of the DLT360 NAVIGATOR, making these advantages also transparent and accessible for future commercial clients
- Closeout report and video planned for February
Our Fall 2022 / December focus (no funding was requested for October & November):
-
Conducting the basic legal research concerning the role and legal status of DAOs (working paper completed).
-
Upgrading and completing an academic article in collaboration with Brussels School of Governance and submitting it to a renowned journal.
-
Investigating the specific legal position as well as related risks and opportunities of DAO applications in business/industry. Our goal is to identify best-practice 'killer applications' in this area, which are adding substantial value and benefit (promising applications have been identified in Idea & Innovation Management as well as in the area of customer / consumer engagement - some VERY concrete examples were brainstormed in dedicated sessions).
-
Checking, how these concepts can be integrated into corporate reality (alignment with our applied TOGAF Enterprise Architecture Framework) - important will be to elegantly link this with our DID-related activities, as DID will be crucial for corporations to handle cross-company and customer76consumer-involving identities for setting up compliant DAO applications.
Next steps:
- Summarising this in a target-group-optimised WHITEPAPER (we will not call this BLUEPRINT, since we have learned that BLUEPRINTS need to be very industry-segment or even client- specific in order to be meaningful). This will become integral part of the BUSINESS/ECONOMY section of our DLT360 NAVIGATOR and show up as OPPORTUNITIES and RISKS on the related DLT360 Risk & Opportunity Radar.
- Closeout report and video planned for February.
Our focus in December:
-
Specific deep-dive into structuring the Secondary Industry as part of the DLT360 NAVIGATOR. We did this based on studying material and based on discussions with e.g. SENAI Institute in Brazil and by discussing with selected experts. Main scope was to understand commonly applied Digital Transformation Frameworks, Enterprise Architectures and to understand the status of the Digital Transformation journey in major industry segments.
-
Stretching out to various communities (also outside the narrow manufacturing industry scope), e.g. participation in various excellent events, webinars and meet-ups with economy/business/industry relevance.
-
Checking LATAM Manufacturing Industry status (concerning Digital Transformation) against other major global regions for identifying communalities and differences. This is important for fine-tuning our DLT360 NAVIGATOR structure, content as well as the setup of our DLT360 Innovation Accelerator Program for fitting to LATAM needs.
-
Changing the toolchain, processes and available team structure for being able to publish some major content in Portuguese and Spanish (GitHub, OBSIDIAN, basic way of how we deal with texts in the NAVIGATOR)
Open:
- Some minor optimisation
- Finalising Closing Report and Closing Video
Our focus in December
-
Reworking our overall CD/CI Guidelines for fitting to our goals and strategies as outlined in our DLT360 Whitepaper. This makes sure that Presentations, documents, videos and other communication is professionally aligned.
-
Reworking our Video-Templates accordingly.
-
Defining the target groups and Persona who shall be approached with our Industry Onboarding video.
-
Developing overall plot and scripting in alignment with the messaging of our DLT360 Whitepaper. Defining the goal to be threefold: a) Create attention and interest in DLT360, b) Trigger desire to get engaged in WEB3.0, DLT and Blockchain visions and concepts c) Drive viewers to concrete actions = visit our Website and sign up for further information about the DLT360 Innovation Accelerator Program.
-
Investigate production capabilities, tools and MVP equipment
-
Select the actors from our core-team
-
Shooting of the roughly scripted scenes.
-
Cutting and graphical fine-tuning by our design experts
-
Quality check and release
Open:
- Closing Report and Video (which will be: The Video)

-
We worked on integrating this tool into our overall tech-stack.
-
We continued to go through all previous CATALYST Funds and identify organisations and people, who can be valuable cooperation partners for DLT360
Open:
- Complete the screening of IdeaScale up to Fund 9
- Implementing processes and people for doing this routinely in the future
- Closeout Report and Video
This project is highly linked with an underlaying base project 'Industry Presentation Kit' (project ID 700142).
This project is transforming and complementing the base presentations into a Portuguese and Spanish version. This is done hand-in-hand with the work on the base project (we decided to refrain from classic, sequential translation in favour of a more parallel methodology. While some content is elaborated in English first and then translated, we also elaborate content in Portuguese / Spanish and translator back to English. This way we can work more simultaneously and can establish a suitable content-provider community (rather than just engaging 'translators').
Currently we are fine-tuning the overall storyline and the required modularity. Our goal is to get to a 'T- Shape Solution', meaning that we can provide a comprehensive 'birds- perspective' on the entire complex topic, but are able to go deep on demand in various key areas.
Open:
- Completing the drafting
- Graphical finetuning
- Content-quality-control and release

- Integration into the DLT360 NAVIGATOR
Our focus in December:
-
Specific deep-dive into structuring the Secondary Industry as part of the DLT360 NAVIGATOR. We did this based on available structuring by studying e.g. VDMA publications (German Association of machine and Equipment Manufacturers - useful, since Germany is leading in this segment and has a very well-structured segmentation of this industry area).
-
Identification of commonly applied Digital Transformation Frameworks (like the VDMA, BITKOM, ZVEI Reference Architecture Model Industry 4.0, the RAMI 4.0) and studying the use of Enterprise Architecture Frameworks like TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework). German manufacturing companies are leading in applying such frameworks and are a good field of studying the practical status of what has been achieved in the Digital Transformation since about 2012 until now.
-
Checking German Manufacturing Industry status against other major global regions for identifying communalities and differences. This is important for fine-tuning our DLT360 NAVIGATOR structure and content as well as the setup of our DLT360 Innovation Accelerator Program (discussions with German industry representatives).
-
Changing the toolchain, processes and available team structure for being able to publish some major content in German (GitHub, OBSIDIAN, basic way of how we deal with texts in the NAVIGATOR)
Open:
- Some minor optimisation
- Finalising Closing Report and Closing Video
During December we focused on the following:
- Completing the related PRIMER in our DLT360 NAVIGATOR
- Complete the foundational paper (Blockchain, DID and GDPR)
- Integrating GDPR/ZKP findings of specific Dissertations
- Outlining and writing the resulting Whitepaper (This is Part 2, adding to our Fund 7 Whitepaper which contained Part 1).
Instead of a Blueprint (which - as we found out along the journey - cannot be done in a meaningful way due to substantial requirement-differences in the different industry segments), this project will deliver a largely industry-independent Whitepaper for DID Implementation in Business and Industry. This step is necessary for providing a solid basis for the future industry-specific Blueprints. Due to the complexity of the topic, we were forced to establish a first Whitepaper in our Fund 7 project and add the specific focus on how to cope with GDPR and ZKP with this second generic Whitepaper.
Our focus in December:
-
Weekly working-group sessions under the business-related guidance of Thorsten Pottebaum and Heinz Gassner. The discussions are documented in MIRO and the results are kept in our GitHub repository and in OBSIDIAN as well as on DROPBOX (until we find better solutions).
-
Establishing the Economy/Business/Industry Segment of the DLT360 NAVIGATOR. We do this basic structuring for Primary, Secondary, Tertiary and Quaternary Industries and by applying industry-best-practice management process frameworks.
-
Elaborating NAVIGATOR details for the Manufacturing Industry (major parts of the Secondary Industry Segment)
-
Sync with our planned DLT360 Innovation Accelerator Program, so that the established NAVIGATOR content and Risk & Opportunity Radar Content is best suitable for our future industry cohort-programs.
-
Checking, correcting and refining of the Economy/Business/Industry Segment of the DLT360 NAVIGATOR.
Open:
- Some minor optimisation
- Finalising Closing Report and Closing Video
-
Bi-weekly working-group sessions (under the guidance of our domain experts Maury Shenk and Michiel Van Roey) and active work by our regulatory workstream team with Jonas Weinberger, Victor Cabral and 3 student contributions between these review sessions
-
Continuing with reaching out to network partners is academia for future work in this are and for better interaction with universities and NGO (we succeeded to onboard the vice-dean of Brussels Schools of Governance, who is well-networked within EU Commission and EU Parliament).
-
Setting up the required structures with a complementary non-profit-layer of DLT360, the institute for Blockchain Policy and Law (IBPL), allowing us also easier implementation of university internships
-
Establishing the IBPL Website and a frontend landing page (linked to DLT360 Website)
-
Establishing tangible processes and roadmaps for lobbying within the EU-Regulation bodies and frameworks.
- Final checkup of the related LEGAL structure in our DLT360 NAVIGATOR
- Various completion, corrections and improvements
- Completing the related LEGAL Content (in our GitHub repository and OBSIDIAN)
- Quality checking by our LEGAL Experts and Workstream Leaders
Please note: This was/is not a one-off work, but the very first creation of our LEGAL structure and content of the DLT360 NAVIGATOR. Our LEGAL Workstream-Teams and our community members will now continue to optimise, amend and maintain this content in the future - thus providing a solid basis for understanding the relevant legal aspects of DLT/Blockchain and for future LOBBYING in major jurisdictions (see also our related Fund 8 project)
During December we focused on the following:
- Elaborating our detailed approach of making DID part of existing EA Frameworks (EA = Enterprise Architecture). This is important, as DID applications in industry need to be complementary to existing solutions and are VERY critical from IT, IT-security, legal, risk and process/workflow perspective.
- Choosing the well-established TOGAF Enterprise Architecture for this purpose (TOGAF = The Open Group Architecture Framework), as this is well established and a good basis for outlining DID approaches for business and industry in a way, that company-internal hurdles and resistance can be effectively addressed.
- Integrating a specific Dissertation
- Outlining and writing the resulting Whitepaper (final details to be completed)
Due to the complexity of the topic, this Whitepaper will be part 1. Part 2 with specific focus on how to cope with GDPR and ZKP will follow in form of our related Fund 8 project.
We expect to complete this project in January/February 2023. We are already working on the closeout report and the closing video.

Reviewing of the result of phase 1 before June 2022 (where we did the pre-work in MIRO and in our original SaaS-Tool licensed from ITONICS). This project deepens the pre-work provided by our Fund 7 project ('Transforming Regulatory Risks').
-
Bi-weekly working-group sessions (under the guidance of our domain experts Maury Shenk and Michiel Van Roey) and active work by our regulatory workstream team with Jonas Weinberger, Victor Cabral and 3 student contributions between these review sessions.
-
Implementation of the refined REGULATORY and LAW structure into our new GitHub structure, thus becoming the input to the automatically generated DLT360 NAVIGATOR and a basis for enabling ongoing, effective and efficient lobbying work.
-
Reaching out to network partners is academia for setting up the required structures for future work in this are and for better interaction with universities and NGO (we are setting up a complementary non-profit 'layer of DLT360, the institute for Blockchain Policy and Law, IBPL, allowing us easier implementation of university internships and cooperation than with the clearly profit-oriented setup of DLT360).
-
Integration of all content into the DLT360 NAVIGATOR, the DLT360 Risk & Opportunity RADAR (and our future DLT360 WEB3.0 Innovation Accelerator Program).

Project completion targeted for December 2022
This project is highly linked with an underlaying base project 'Industry Presentation Kit' (project ID 700142). For your orientation, the information below shows the progress of the base project.
This project is transforming and complementing the base presentations into a LATAM version. This is done hand-in-hand with the work on the base project (we decided to refrain from classic, sequential translation in favour of a more parallel methodology. while some content is elaborated in English first and then translated into Portuguese/Spanish, we also elaborate content in Portuguese/Spanish and translator back to English. This way we can work more simultaneously and can establish a LATAM content-provider community (rather than just engaging 'translators').
For your orientation: Here is the overall project activity report:
-
Reviewing of the results of phase 1 before June 2022 (where we did some ideation pre-work in MIRO and in our original SaaS-Tool licensed from ITONICS).
-
Since beginning of September again: Weekly working-group sessions, touching all our work streams in the segments of business, technology, legal, ESG and politics (under the business-related guidance of Thorsten Pottebaum and Heinz Gassner, under legal guidance of Mary Shenk and Michiel Van Roey, soon under special guidance of a renowned professor of the Brussels School of Governance for ESG and Politics AND in coordination with DLT & Blockchain institute of University of Malta as part of a sponsored Dissertation). From LATAM side, the main focus comes from Guilherme Pereira and his network, including contacts to SENAI institute in Brazil and to selected universities.
-
Underlaying work ongoing: Basic research (in form of a sponsored Dissertation based on extensive literature study and interdisciplinary expert interviews) of how to 'appetise' WEB3.0 and future Metaverse in the area of Digital Transformation of Manufacturing Industry.
-
Drafting of our Presentation framework ongoing: Based on the findings elaborated in the Dissertation project, we are drafting our Industry Onboarding Presentations in parallel. Currently we are fine-tuning the overall storyline and the required modularity. Our goal is to get to a 'T-Shape Solution', meaning that we can provide a comprehensive 'birds-perspective' on the entire complex topic, but are able to go deep on demand in various key areas.
5.. Next steps: This will then become integral part of the DLT360 WEBsite, the BUSINESS/ECONOMY section of our DLT360 NAVIGATOR and show up as OPPORTUNITIES and RISKS on the related DLT360 Risk & Opportunity Radar.
- We expect closeout in December
This project runs in parallel and partially builds upon our other project ('Examine PoS-Advantages of Cardano' with projects ID 700113). Please find our current activities-report below:
-
Reviewing of the result of phase 1 before June 2022 (where we did the pre-work in MIRO and in our original SaaS-Tool licensed from ITONICS).
-
Bi-weekly working-group sessions (under the guidance of our domain experts Maury Shenk and Michiel Van Roey) and active work by our regulatory workstream team with Jonas Weinberger, Victor Cabral and 3 student contributions between these review sessions. Working on broad literature study and interaction with universities and experienced legal practitioners. Establishing basic underlaying material (see e.g. attached article)
-
Currently we are working on deeper technical analysis of the different PoS approaches (especially in the context or the ETH Merge, which is making substantial risks visible and allows for establishing differentiating benefits of e.g. the OUROBOROS approach). The emphasis goes on shaping a small and independent stake pool equipped with 'bare-metal-servers' and ideas of how maintenance can be 'pooled' without jeopardising the independence of these small stake pools (see also point 4 below).
-
The legal and technical perspective is complemented by our current focus on a modular business model for small and independent SPOs. We are outlining modular revenue streams and working on a franchise-style model for simplifying technology maintenance without jeopardising the independence of these small stake pools. Our conceptualising also includes global fundraising for e.g. establishing highly decentralised SPO structures in developing countries based on a legally acceptable and non-controlling crowed funding.
-
We assume that this project will be closed by December 2022.
-
Reviewing of the result of phase 1 before June 2022 (where we did the pre-work in MIRO and in our original SaaS-Tool licensed from ITONICS).
-
Bi-weekly working-group sessions (in the legal area under the guidance of our domain experts Maury Shenk and Michiel Van Roey and active work by our regulatory workstream team with one native Chinese lawyer, Jonas Weinberger and student contributions. This inter-disciplinary projects overlaps with ESG, technology and politics area and the business impact is overseen by Thorsten Pottebaum and Heinz Gassner
-
Currently we have examined the legal side and perform a detailed mapping of the relevant legal situation in China (BSN, Hainan Blockchain Pilot Zone etc.)
-
Based on the legal findings, we examine the technological situation and ESG/Politics-related aspects
-
Working on integration of all content into the DLT360 NAVIGATOR, the DLT360 Risk & Opportunity RADAR (and our future DLT360 WEB3.0 Innovation Accelerator Program).

-
Currently we have focused on elaborating a comprehensive summary of privacy-law related impact on commercial use of SSI/DID (see attached paper).
-
Based on the legal findings, we examine the technological situation and ESG/Politics-related aspects, which are very essential for business & industry applications. Here we look especially deeper into how SSI/DID approaches can be integrated into existing Digital Transformation strategies and tech-stacks in industry, especially also on how to transform traditional SSO approaches with all related governance & legal issues and how to ensure compliance with emerging standards. We are also observing latest publications and might sponsor a related (ongoing) dissertation at University of Malta.
-
Working on integration of all content into the DLT360 NAVIGATOR, the DLT360 Risk & Opportunity RADAR (and our future DLT360 WEB3.0 Innovation Accelerator Program).
-
Project completion targeted for December 2022
-
We started to scout for a tool-framework for capturing potential networking and collaboration partners. This is important, since we do not only do this once, but have a maintainable way of doing this in continuous way.
-
We decided to use a classic (easy to use, flexible and cost-effective) CRM tool. We made a short list of possible tools and have selected our best choice.
-
Currently we are piloting this tool.
-
We will then continue to go through all previous CATALYST Funds and identify organisations and people, who can be valuable cooperation partners for DLT360.
-
This project should be completed by December 2022. In the future this will be a routine effort. Our success will always require a maximum of networking within and outside the CARDANO community.
-
Review of our discussions held before June 2022
-
Concept for integrating the VIDEO project into our new DLT360 NAVIGATOR environment and the newly decided DLT360 WEB3.0 Innovation Accelerator Program.
-
Re-planning the video project accordingly: This industry-onboarding video will now be less about specific content (as we establish this in our modular presentation environment), but about onboarding innovators from industry to our Accelerator Program.
-
We drafted a video storyline / plot to the new scope, aiming for spreading the following
- The role of WEB3.0 and Metaverse (and thus also DLT/Blockchain) as logical next phase of the digital transformation of business/industry
- Explain related opportunities & risks
- Explain what DLT360 can do for simplifying this journey
- Explaining the various products & services of DLT360, specifically the DLT360 WEB3.0 Innovation Accelerator Program (first one planned for starting in JAN 2023)
- Animate viewers to visit the DLT360 bWebsite and to pre-register to this Accelerator Program
-
Performing the video shootings on different locations
-
Editing and 'professionalizing' the video
-
We should see a first official version by end of September / beginning of October
–> Project closing is planned for October 2022
-
We just restarted with reviewing our work that we have invested before June 2022
-
We adopted this pre-work to fit into our new DLT360 Navigator setup. This project provides content to our economy/business segment (Primary Sector).
-
We performed a first round of research and established a basic primer in cooperation with Bank of Brazil.
-
This brought quite some learnings, making us to split this into 2 branches: 1) Smaller scale organic farming and 2) Agricultural Industry
-
We have now entered the detailed research phase, which will run over October and parts of November, outlining the most promising business opportunities and related risks.
-
We expect project closeout by December 2022
-
As reported, we restarted our content-related work by beginning of September (after focusing on our people, process and tools foundation over June to end of August). The biggest change was here, that we are now storing and maintaining our content in GitHub - very essential for our ambition to work as a large content-providing network in the future.
-
The Technology work stream conducts weekly meetings (and is collaborating with our other work streams in Regulation, ESG, Politics and Economy/Business).
-
During September, we have focused on integrating the TECHNOLOGY segment into our new DLT360 NAVIGATOR (Knowledge Management) and GitHub Repository environment.
-
We are currently working on basic content, following a 'T-Shape approach' (first focusing on the basic overview, the big picture, and at the same time work on selected topics where we can provide a real deep-dive. In the future, we will then add more and more deep-dive topics, as they are needed for the DLT360 WEB3.0 Innovation Accelerator program.
-
The role of the TECHNOLOGY Workstream Team is to coordinate our contributors, review our GitHub content, quality check and release for integration into the DLT360 NAVIGATOR
-
We expect project closeout by December 2022

-
The work on this project during September was focused on literature review and consulting of experts (collecting material in ZOTERO).
-
In parallel, we are cooperating with a Dissertation at University of Malta, which is looking into the potential of METAVERSE Applications in real-world industry and business. Based on thus research, we want to outline interoperability requirements from BUSINESS PERSPECTIVE and then map this into requirements for technical approaches (the other way around is already part of quite many discussions).
-
A key challenge is the lack of understanding and clear terminology among industry innovators, the power of already existing Digital Transformation Tech-Stacks based on traditional WEB2.0 and SaaS approaches and the still lacking ideas of what benefits METAVERSE approaches will be able to provide (according our internal brainstorming based on our knowledge of manufacturing industry, the potential is huge).
-
During October, we will be able to show first preliminary results (anyway, this work and this topic will become a key-part of our planned DLT360 WEB3.0 Innovation Accelerator Program starting in JAN 2023 - our main activity for onboarding innovators from established industry). With our focus on outlining interoperability requirements, we want to contribute to future standardisation and risk reduction.

Ongoing: Basic research (in form of a sponsored Dissertation based on extensive literature study and interdisciplinary expert interviews) of how to 'appetise' WEB3.0 and future Metaverse in the area of Digital Transformation of Manufacturing Industry. Establishing a strong collection of academic and industry-related material in ZOTERO, drafting the Dissertation in coordination with University of Malta supervisors.
Draft Title of the Dissertation:
'WEB3.0 (DLT, Blockchain and the Metaverse): A logical next step in the digital transformation of manufacturing industry? A contribution to taxonomy with recommendations for corporate risk-management and digital transformation strategy.'
Part of this research is generic (global), and parts are specifically deepened for the German and the LATAM area. The LATAM-related research is mainly done in conjunction with material and contacts of local organizations like e.g. SENAI-institute in Brazil and expert interviews of industry leaders and renowned academic experts. As these areas are 'language sensitive', we will provide appropriate translations of our research results.
- Next steps: Transforming the Dissertation and LATAM-specific results into a WHITEPAPER. This will then become integral part of the BUSINESS/ECONOMY section of our DLT360 NAVIGATOR and show up as OPPORTUNITIES and RISKS on the related DLT360 Risk & Opportunity Radar.

Ongoing: Basic legal research of how to position DAOs in the context of business/industry applications and in the context of our existing legal systems (first draft paper attached). After looking at these basics, we are now deep-diving into the regulatory world for elaborating practical best-practice recommendations in these incomplete and fast changing environment.
-
Ongoing: Outlining QUICK WIN business/industry applications with high business benefit (for solving things which cannot be solved today, by reducing complexity, enhancing transparency, boosting engagement, finding new forms of decision making, enabling cooperation within non-trusted business-networks etc.)
-
Next steps: Summarising this in a target-grout optimised WHITEPAPER (we will not call this BLUEPRINT, since we have learned that BLUEPRINTS can only be client-specific in order to be meaningful). -
Ongoing: Technology focus - Identifying the role and potential use-cases of SSI/DID in the context of business and Industry (where we are not entering Greenfield, but have to integrate this into a rather complex Digital Transformation Strategy, Process and Tool landscape - and are confronted with rather difficult 'competitors' like e.g. Microsoft, who are energetically trying to defend their important SSO domain). Were need to find an easy and feasible way of how to complement existing approaches by SSI/DID based on Public Permissionless Blockchain (with preference on CARDANO, of course).
-
Ongoing: Researching the Legal implications (mainly in the area of Cybersecurity, GDPR and commercial confidentiality)
-
Ongoing: Outlining QUICK WIN applications with high business benefit (by solving things which cannot be solved today, by reducing complexity, enhancing transparency, enabling cooperation within non-trusted business-networks etc.
-
Next steps: Summarising this in a target-grout optimised WHITEPAPER (we will not call this BLUEPRINT, since we have learned that BLUEPRINTS can only be client-specific in order to be meaningful). This will become integral part of the BUSINESS/ECONOMY section of our DLT360 NAVIGATOR and show up as OPPORTUNITIES and RISKS on the related DLT360 Risk & Opportunity Radar.
-
We expect closeout by end of November / early December
-
Reviewing of the result of phase 1 before June 2022 (where we did the pre-work in MIRO and in our original SaaS-Tool licensed from ITONICS).
-
Bi-weekly working-group sessions (under the guidance of our domain experts Maury Shenk and Michiel Van Roey) and active work by our regulatory workstream team with Jonas Weinberger, Victor Cabral and 3 student contributions between these review sessions.
-
Working on broad literature study and interaction with universities and experienced legal practitioners.
-
Establishing basic underlaying material (see e.g. attached article)
-
Currently working on deeper technical analysis of the different PoS approaches (especially in the context or the ETH Merge, which is making substantial risks visible and allows for establishing differentiating benefits of e.g. the OUROBOROS approach).
-
Based on the results of 5), we will create a comprehensive RISK & OPPORTUNITY overview that can be used in the communication with regulators and our future industrial clients.
-
We assume that this project will be closed by late November / early December 2022.

-
Implementation of the refined REGULATORY and LAW structure into our new GitHub structure, thus becoming the input to the automatically generated DLT360 NAVIGATOR.
-
Reviewing this new structure regarding completeness and defining the processes for elaborating future content and for keeping all content up-to-date (which is one of the main goals of all our workstreams)
-
Starting to identify potential gaps, compare with our initially outlined deliverables and make a concept for closing report and closing video (we will then close a number of our projects in one closing round, because this allows us to better demonstrate the inter-disciplinary character of our work and the future role of our individual projects within the DLT360 NAVIGATOR, the DLT360 Risk & Opportunity RADAR and our future DLT360 WEB3.0 Innovation Accelerator Program).
–> We plan to present the closeout of this project during October 2022.

We will do our closing report at the Town-Hall of APRIL 27, 2022 and provide a first DLT360 Roundtrip Video shortly thereafter (part of the closing process, but too long to show during the town-hall). The COMPLETE status will then come with the next monthly report.

We will apply for a session in one of the next town halls and deliver our first (MVP) DLT360 Risk & Opportunity Radar - Quarterly Video Roundup soon thereafter. With this, our Fund 6 Project will be closed (we want to make a NPS Survey linked with our quarterly video for getting sufficient community feedback). We will aim to complete this Fund 6 project by 31/03/2022, but in favour of video-quality it might be a bit delayed into April.
p.S. I saw that the FEB Progress Report is marked to be missing - well, I thought that it was agreed that this was obsolete ? Sorry about my misunderstanding.
